I started going to YogaSix, never have done yoga before, December 2022. I work out regularly doing HIIT and this has helped me tremendously in my other workouts as well as the mental aspect of it.The community of YogaSix makes you feel at home and I have made so many friends and the connections are great. If you haven't tried yoga or are contemplating it, I HIGHLY recommend you try a class. I promise you will love it and the benifits from it are amazing.

I started yoga at my worst... chronic fear and anxiety, daily panic attacks, substance and behavioral addiction, unhealthy coping mechanisms to numb the emotional pain, financially out of control, divorced, disconnected, chronic back pain, obesity, inflammation in my gut and brain, irritability, anger, fear, and complete lack of self worth and self love.Within 7 days, of doing yoga daily, I feel reborn. My chiropractor said I am more flexible, aligned, and relaxed than ever before.I feel happier, connected, calmer and confident.I am hopeful of this positive shift in my health trajectory and want to keep coming daily.I specifically love YogaSix because it offers accountability to classes I sign up for as well as offers a friendly and welcoming community... the Saint Charles location isn't too crowded... and the heat is so perfect on a cold winter day.Update: 5 months into doing yoga, 5 times a week:Able to self regulate emotions using breathing and self awareness.Increased self awareness and acceptance of thoughts and feelings; ability to sit in feelings and not be overwhelmed.Increased Tolerance to stressful situations.Less reactive to triggers.Ability to notice breathing and also stronger lungs.More flexible to unexpected changes.Increased confidence.Able to process trauma.Don't feel overwhelmed by negative memories.Decreased rumination.Increased number of positive thoughts.20 lbs healthy weight loss in combination with healthy diet.Stronger heart, back.Better balance.Chronic back pain is no longer present; I no longer need to go to Chiropractor.Deeper, more open, trusting, emotionally intimate relationships with friends and parents.I'm no longer numbing my emotions or thoughts with addictive behaviors or substances. I am fully aware.I wouldn't say I'm happier... that word doesn't describe the peace, serenity and self love that I feel, regardless of how bad my circumstances are. It seems that even though I am still facing the same struggles in life, I have a deep sense of acceptance of life, and am less attached to the outcome in life.Update: 02/23/2023 - 6 months of yoga resulted in objective improvements in physical and Behavioral/Emotional indicators:My doctor described my mood as euthymic; the state of living without mood disturbances.Yoga also helped with my physical health:My heart rate was 120/70. Pulse 69 | Resp 18 | SpO2 99%I haven't had this good of health stats since my early 20's!214 lb from 235 lb; Lost 21 lbs!
