Really loved working out this gym!The foundations course was a great way to get introduced to Olympic weightlifting. The instructors were really helpful, the music jammin', and the class sizes were great. If you're looking for a gym where you can make friends and be your goofy self this is a great place. The staff and other clients are really nice and approachable. :)

I’ve been going to Magnus since August 2021 and have nothing but good things to say about it! I am a somewhat untraditional case, and took up weight lifting both to generally get strong but also to help combat several chronic illnesses. The coaches at Magnus are kind, knowledgeable, and endlessly encouraging of every single person who shows up. Workouts are effective and fun, and coaches are always willing to give modifications. Magnus is a gem, and I’d encourage anyone to check it out. Regardless of if you’ve been lifting for years or you’ve never picked up a barbell, you will be welcomed and find community at this place.

I feel so fortunate to have found such an amazing gym. Not only is this the only gym I feel comfortable going ( they take covid very seriously) but their programming is amazing and their coaches/owners are as well. They truly care about their members and it shows. Thank you Magnus.

Amazing gym and community. I've had the pleasure of training with Gretchen, Tatty, and Quint the past few months and loved every session. Group class attendees are incredibly friendly and welcomed me into the gym family so quickly. Wish I didn't have to say goodbye so soon, but will be dropping in whenever I'm back in town!

Just dropped in from out of town for some oly lifting and loved the set up. They were very responsive prior to arrival and the coach who checked me in was on top of things and helped me find everything I needed.

This place is home for me, and for so many other strong, growth-minded, kind, hard-working women in the southeast Portland community. I trust the coaches with my whole self, my feelings, my good days and bad. I trust them to make me my best, and every time I show up to class I feel like I’m adding one more brick onto a sturdy wall. It’s hard to encapsulate the mental and physical transformation I’ve undergone since joining Magnus three years ago. But I can say if you’re looking for a gym with character, heart, constant improvement, friends to last a lifetime, and challenges to match, then you’ve found the right place.

Awesome gym and great community of people! Quint welcomed us from the very beginning and gave energetic/attentive coaching. Programming is awesome and class times can work with almost any work schedule! Great place, staple gym for the Buckman/Belmont/CE community.

As a 2-year member I've been daily impressed with the welcoming community and well-trained coaches. I started here in the Foundations class with a good level of aerobic fitness, but no weight lifting experience, and have made huge gains thanks to the programming and personal attention. I've also loved the vibe. It's really an Olympic weight lifting studio with a Crossfit box attached, and I've come to expect a focus on skill and technique instead of competitiveness.
