I've been working with Daniel for the past 4 years. Every workout I'm challenged and am still surprised at what my body's capable of doing. I'm pretty active and enjoy tennis, swimming and most recently am addicted to pickleball. So when I tore my rotator cuff last year trying to keep up with my daughters on a snowboard, I was back in the gym with my sling shortly after surgery. Both my physical therapist and surgeon noticed results almost immediately and I was able to perform mobility and strengthening exercises literally weeks ahead of schedule. I'm continuing to work with Daniel and looking forward to getting back on the slopes!

I have been working with Daniel at Gym PDX for the past few years. I started working with him after needing to rehab a few sports injuries and was very pleased with his approach and the results. I love that he tailors the workouts to my personal goals. I even moved out of state for a few years and he has been great at continuing to work with me remotely. His knowledge of the human body and its performance is unparalleled. I would recommend anyone to him!

I first met Daniel in 2019 coming off an injury and have been training with him ever since. He has a true passion for helping people with their fitness goals, whether it's just "fit for life" or for a specific sport. He approaches everyone with compassion and humor, consistently creating challenging programs and providing accountability without being overwhelming. You won't be disappointed!

Daniel is an expert in movement and what is needed to get people where they need to go. I’ve been quite pleased with the program Daniel has set for me, and I love the fact that there is zero “bro” culture. I can work independently with great coaching-nothing slips Daniel’s attention.

Ive been working out at the gym consistently for over a year now. Consistency w my schedule has always been hard and daniels coaching, progression, attention to detail and always thinking about how to keep my fitness safe abd progressing has been huge. I think going out climbing and biking and finding my fitness way higher than i expected is certainly a testatement to the programming and my consistency

I've been working out at The Gym for over a year now and I truly recommend it! The back and neck pain I endured for years is gone. I feel strong, confident, and capable. The Gym is a safe place for people of all fitness levels, Daniel will meet you where you are. Zero judgement. He'll encourage you to push your boundaries while still putting safety first. It's also a fantastic value for the level of coaching you receive. There's always fun and interesting people around and good conversation to be had too, which is the cherry on top.

Dan has been my personal trainer for about 4years. When I came to him I came off of a 10 year sedentary life with significant weight gain due to a knee injury. With his rehab help he took me from being barely able to move around to running intervals and get back into mountaineering and being on a Search and Rescue team. I was able to summit 3 mountains in 2 weeks. Dan is an extremely knowledgeable trainer, we routinely discuss new strength and conditioning research and protocols found in journals and peer reviewed papers. He has always been super accommodating to my schedule having group training. During group sessions he still provides me a customized training plan for the day just like he does during my personal training sessions. These customized sessions work in tandom with the advice and outside workouts he has me do to stay in shape and prepare for my Search and Rescue missions. Currently I see him for 1 group and 1 personal training session a week. Each session we look at how I'm feeling and adjust my session accordingly. During the sessions he provides feedback, correction and motivation to get through my plan and prepare for our next session. I am very thankful for Dan and The Gym PDX for helping me get back on track and help me lead a more productive and pain free life.

Daniel has been able to keep me training for three years despite my injury-prone joints. He works around my injuries, and even talks to my physical therapists to make sure his programs support my recovery. I like his flexible "office hours" membership plans - they're a great way to get personalized oversight at a lower cost than full private training. I also appreciate how he tracks research, and makes his programs as evidence-based as possible.

I’ve been going to The Gym for about 4 months and it’s been so good to work with Daniel. He’s created a custom workout plan with guided examples of exercises, emphasizes correct form and deliberate muscle targeting, and is very flexible in scheduling time to come into the facility.Daniel genuinely cares about my personal growth and I can always count on getting a good workout in; I’ve become stronger, more coordinated, and have better form and overall posture thanks to him. I highly recommend Daniel and The Gym
