Bay Club Redondo Beach offers a scenic and comprehensive fitness experience with its open, airy layout and both indoor and outdoor workout areas. Nestled in a prime location overlooking the marina, this club features diverse amenities including a lap swimming pool, sauna, outdoor turf area, and well-maintained locker rooms. Members appreciate the natural light and friendly atmosphere that make workouts more enjoyable.
However, frequent complaints about cleanliness, outdated equipment, and service inconsistencies mar the overall experience. With significant recent price hikes, many feel the quality of services does not match the premium fees. Despite its strong points, members suggest considering other options if cleanliness and modern amenities are high priorities.

Excellent experience getting spontaneous personal training through John, even though I was just a guest. Excellent pool. Very clean and well appointed locker room. Front desk staff was not very friendly when I was getting signed in. Did not offer to give me a tour or in any way promote the benefits of joining (missed opportunity). Mostly they were talking about wanting to get off work. Very unprofessional. Club has a lot to offer despite being an old facility that needs some updating.

Terms and conditions are as bad as any other cheap gym owners around. Canceling your membership forces you to pay for an additional month out? Can you be any cheaper?

The pool here is just amazing, an overlooks the ocean. Plus things Jacuzzi which is open there, which after a long swim is the right antidote

Overly priced and half the equipment never works. Most equipment is rusty and appears old. They raised the price $30 per person in our group in the past 5 months. When we originally joined bay club told us that they only ever raise the price slightly in January, but that’s not the case. They gave us less than a 24 hour notice that prices were increased $20 per person in our group to the time we had to give a 30 day notice to quit. Staff ignored our calls and did not call us back for weeks and then when we finally got ahold of them, they were extremely rude. Why would we have to give a 30 days notice to quit if you only gave us less than a days notice of the drastic price increase?

Beach vibes, great lap swimming pool, sauna, steam, outdoor turf and general brightness and natural light of entire gym makes this a more relaxed Bay Club environment, especially compared to El Segundo. Only worth it on a shared membership now unfortunately, as they continually raise prices (twice in 5 months?!) without reason. They say it's for new machines but all the machines here are old and dated. It's quite clear that El Segundo gets all the upgrades (e.g. new machines, nicer locker rooms, equipment, cafe, etc.) while Redondo is treated like the ugly stepchild and gifted old equipment (stair masters, ellipticals from the 2000s, etc.). Ever since KKR (private equity firm) acquired Bay Club in 2018, things have only gotten "net-worse" for RB Bay Club. The dues have increased nearly 90%, and perks/amenities have remained more or less the same. Sure the pool was resurfaced, and the outdoor jacuzzi rebuilt, however, certain things like multiple showers being broken for months (really, how long does it take to order a new shower head?) constantly broken equipment, dirty shower drains, etc. makes you wondering if it's time to move to Equinox. Dues increased in January 2023 by $10/person and AGAIN in May 2023, without warning aside from a paragraph hidden in an email, to about $130/person on shared memberships. If you're under 30 make sure to inquire about the Young Professional membership, nobody told me about that and you do get a discount. Still, the shared is more economical. Love to hate this place but ultimately it's a nice club.
