Bay Club Redondo Beach offers a scenic and comprehensive fitness experience with its open, airy layout and both indoor and outdoor workout areas. Nestled in a prime location overlooking the marina, this club features diverse amenities including a lap swimming pool, sauna, outdoor turf area, and well-maintained locker rooms. Members appreciate the natural light and friendly atmosphere that make workouts more enjoyable.

However, frequent complaints about cleanliness, outdated equipment, and service inconsistencies mar the overall experience. With significant recent price hikes, many feel the quality of services does not match the premium fees. Despite its strong points, members suggest considering other options if cleanliness and modern amenities are high priorities.

EDITED: The original review is true; however, Tony Allègre who I believe is from the ES/MB South Bay location reached out to me and was able to communicate what went wrong and took full responsibility. That went a long way with me and everything has been resolved. I’m not sure I’d be comfortable joining Redondo Beach again because of their inability to effectively communicate with me throughout this situation, but I would still be open to the South Bay location where I had been prior to moving. SB is a much nicer facility with great flow, culture, and dining — and, I don’t think this issue would have been resolved if they didn’t get involved. This has been an absolute horrible experience. Redondo staff and trainers are poorly trained and management has been nothing but dishonest. I was previously with Bay Club El Segundo and Howard Hughes for years and the best experience. Redondo has been a wildly different experience. I bought a training package and hired a personal trainer (Joe) to help get me back to where I was before an injury. I was told that injury was his thing. He came unprepared to our second session and had me do exercises that were very inappropriate and I immediately reinjured. I initially thought that I would heal quickly and planned to switch trainers. I did not heal and ultimately requested a refund and put my membership on hold as the injury was appearing to be somewhat serious. I was told that the refund just needed approval and so I waited. Then I start seeing monthly charges on my bank card. I contact the training manager and Diana the general manager. She says that she will refund the charges. It has now been months and I still have not received a refund for the training package or the monthly charges after I received after putting my membership on hold. I have filed a dispute with my bank and it looks like this matter will be resolved through my bank. I have found this club to be extremely dishonest and my experience with them has been incredibly stressful.

Been a BayClub member for over 20 years when it used to be the Spectum club. I appreciate the large outdoors workout areas. Nice pool and jacuzzi. The locker rooms are dated and older. But they keep it clean. The location can NOT be beat. Parking is free for members but you need to get a sticker pass from the front desk.

My membership fees have increased from $120-$190 since 2020. It was $80 when I joined in 2016. That’s pretty shady practice if you ask me. They really do not seem to care about the members, just collect money. It’s literally the same price as Equinox with the vibe of wal-mart. Nowhere near as clean, or updated though. Locker room especially could be a lot cleaner. Steam shower is gross when it’s not broken. The downstairs free weight area used to have an aux cable you could plug your own music into which was nice. Not anymore. It would all be a lot less frustrating if they didn’t to continue to hike up the fees. It’s a basic gym with high end pricing. Not as dirty as 24 hour which is the only upside.

I really like the staff, the members, and the facility. I highly recommend it to others.

Clean up the men's Steem Sauna with a power wash each night as Regular Maintenance & Cleaning.

This place is great! I purchased a teenager membership for my 18 year old daughter and she loves it! She stays in great shape and associates with nice classy people there, unlike the lower class places that cost $20-$30 a month and enroll all types of misfits. This lovely place obviously, is not for the likes of someone like Queen SusanP

This club has seen better decades. The steam room and sauna are almost always out of commission in the men’s room; both are rundown, unreliable, and filthy. They’re down so often than I started calling beforehand… unfortunately the front desk rarely answers the phone. Not worth the headache. Actively looking for a different gym.
