Gracie Barra Renton

My son is 12 and he doesn’t like to exercise. We tried so many sports then we found Gracie Barra. He absolutely loved it after the free try out class. All the coaches are very friendly and helpful . They have lots of patience for kids. We always feel welcomed. My son is happy to come to the Jiujitsu classes every week . We definitely recommend this place.

As a complete adult BJJ beginner, I was welcomed warmly by Professors Amy and Dex. They made my first experience with jiu jitsu one that I could feel comfortable returning to. The professors and coaches are highly trained and fountains of knowledge, making this a gym where all levels are welcome. I highly recommend joining, you won’t be disappointed.

Great community, it has become my families second home!!! The people we have met here has turned to family. My family loves this place!!My husband and 3 kids have been training here and have come to love the sport. I ended up joining myself recently to see what’s it all about,let me say I’m glad I did! It’s helping me learn things I didn’t think I’d do and what my body is capable of doing. Special thank you to the coaches that are gentle with beginners and take their time teaching. I am very appreciate of it!The owners- Shannon and Sarai Higgason are some wonderful people you will come across. They have a great team under them. Everyone is welcoming and very knowledgeable.This location holds Bang Muay Thai classes as well that is held by some amazing coaches.

My son attends and loves it. He’s really started to develop well since he started to come here. The coaches are kind and caring but still are able to instill discipline. The folks at the desk are also awesome. Highly recommended.

This is the best place I could’ve taken my daughter. She’s a bit shy and scared to try new things, but not only did the coach but the other students in the class welcomed her as well. They all showed her what she needed to do and never made her feel bad about it. It’s such a fun class for her and she’s learning a lot!

Great sense of community and brotherhood here! Everyday I’m excited to go see my new friends and get to learn something new as well! Professor Shannon is the man, He’s very approachable and doesn’t hold back knowledge if you ask him about something. Same for all the other instructors they’re all good at explaining the little details! I look forward to getting better with all of you guys and gals!

I have been training BJJ for a few years very consistently and while traveling for work I take advantage of dropping into many different academies. Professor Shannon and his gym are absolutely terrific. Shannon is friendly, welcoming and professional. His experience and depth of knowledge is immediately evident but what I really appreciated most was his approach to teaching. I’ve never come across an instructor with such a great demeanor and fun sense of humor. With Renton Gracie Barra you will be in great hands and are sure to have an excellent time training with their staff regardless of your experience level. I look forward to going back! The school is exceptional :). I joined myself and my son in March. There are many kids at different levels and my son has been getting along with all of them while learning the moves. The adult class is inviting, friendly and engaging! It definitely makes me want to come more and be better :)

My 7yr old son joined Gracie Barra Renton a month ago and has truly enjoyed himself. The coaches and professors do a great job of demonstrating and supporting each student to make them feel included regardless of what level of expertise or experience they have. They focus on getting the technique right and made sure each student/ child is getting a great understanding of each moves they are learning. There’s is plenty of support for each student during every class. The environment is very friendly and family oriented. Everyone (parents and staff) made me feel very welcomed.

The gym and culture are fantastic. When I moved to the area, I asked the instructors at the gym I had been training at if there was a school they would recommend that I check out... Gracie Renton was the response. I decided to check it out and instantly knew that it would be a good fit. The more I trained here and got to know the people, the more that feeling grew. Professor Shannon and the coaches have a wealth of knowledge, and are able to deliver the information in ways that make it easy and fun to learn.Aside from this, the facilities are immaculate, and it is one of the cleanest gyms I have ever trained in. All the coaches are knowledgeable, the culture is supportive and respectful, and the gym has a feeling like you become part of the family.Please give this gym a try, it will be worth it!!! My wife and I love this place and the community that comes with it.
