Coastal Muay Thai

Training started off good. My kids learned a lot from Frankie. We were with him for 5 months and my 12 yo son won 4 fights. Over time we started to see the REAL Frankie… emotionally unstable and moody, wants total control with no team work. He turned out to be a very dangerous coach. He was sparing with my 12yo son 2 days before a fight and he gave him a liver punch. My son blacked out and dropped to the ground. Then Frankie did not want me to mother him and kicked me out of the gym. A week later and my sons liver is still sore and he’s tired all the time. A coach is suppose to teach not pummel a client (like I see him do with his other clients). Frankie lost control and went way to hard on my child. Beware!!!!

My 13 year old son trains with Frankie and there is no other instructor I would trust to train my son and be a mentor to him. Coastal Muay Thai has been a great experience. Being a Marine this training has helped me develop my skills of fighting more. Coastal is awesome with working with my schedule and Frank is a great trainer who really develops your skills in and out of the ring.

I met Frankie 12 years ago in a gym in US. Since then we've trained together across the world including my home country Bulgaria and Ireland. He has been an inspiration for me throughout the years, a supportive friend and teacher, always surprising me with different perspectives on the sport even though I've been in it for over 20 years. He has deep understanding of muay thai and is always great fun training with him. I am truly grateful to have met him!

I have been in the MMA world for roughly 10 years. Three years ago I joined some great gyms and was able to meet coach Frankie Vincent. He has been a huge help with my stand up combat, taught me how to do things as well as what not to do. He cares about his students as well as how they succeed. I trained with Frankie over a decade ago when we both lived on the Outer Banks. Initially I started with kickboxing to lose a few pounds for my upcoming wedding, not expecting to fall in love with the sport. Fast forward 12 years later and I’m still kickboxing. I credit this to Frankie, his passion, and his skill and knowledge as a trainer! My only regret is that when I moved to Raleigh, Frankie didn’t move as well! If I could train with him every day of the week I would!

As a woman, it's hard to find a gym and trainer that feels both welcoming and knowledgeable. I've been working with Frankie and Coastal Muay Thai for several months, and highly recommend him. He uses research-informed methods and I've seen him explain concepts successfully to eight year-olds and adults without breaking his stride.
