I had been working out regularly for a couple years when a friend suggested I try Strive. The workouts are mixed up with some days focusing more on strength and others focusing more on cardio / endurance. All have been top-notch and difficult – with the ability to scale according to your own personal needs. Derek was great at helping modify a few movements when I came in with a minor injury. He's currently working closely with me to help tweak my nutrition so I can move closer towards my goals. My former gym membership offered me the ability to go to several facilities in the area, but I’ve never come across a more encouraging group of fellow members. The motto here is “better together”. And it truly is.

My fitness journey at Strive started on a fluke. In October 2017 I attended a charity boot camp style workout. I thought to myself “Pssshhh it’s for charity. They are not gonna make us really workout.” Well, I was wrong. We truly worked out!I instantly became hooked! The workouts are no joke. They are tough both physically and mentally. That’s not to say that you can’t do it. You can do anything you set your mind to.I love everyone at Strive. The trainers are welcoming, motivating, and caring. They care about your physical and mental needs. I personally have a knee injury which means I have to modify some of the moments. SO glad I stumbled upon Strive when looking for a new gym, as it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for! After years of working out and having an “okay diet” I was seriously lacking motivation to exercise and eat well. Not only will Strive push you physically, but you will also learn a TON about nutrition. I’ve only been at Strive for a couple of weeks and honestly feel like it was one of the best decisions I’ve made...I mean I actually look forward to waking up at 5am to work out because I know I’ll have to push myself. I think Derek’s commitment to educating his clients about nutrition and the motivating atmosphere is what sets this gym apart from others. You can go to any gym and get a good workout in, but the combination of the group trainings sessions and nutrition education is really what I feel is allowing me to make progress towards my goals. Whether you’re bored of your current routine or need somewhere to start, Strive will not disappoint!

My daughter Kylie was introduced to Derek during her club volleyball season at least 3 years ago. It was then, that she began Strength and Conditioning training under his guidance. He takes great care in developing individual training plans for his athletes. Not only does he help these athletes to achieve their goals, but he guides them as to how to do it safely as to prevent injuries.When Derek started his business (in a small church auxiliary room), I joined his fitness class with the hopes of getting healthier and dropping some weight. Over time, I have had my setbacks, but Derek has always encouraged not only me, but all of his clients to celebrate their progress regardless of how long it may take. During the time I have been attending Strive Fitness classes, he has grown his business from being in that small church room to having his own building! There are clients of all ages, shapes, and sizes that call each other family. We work out in a place where there is no judgement made and positive encouragement is the focus of everyone. I encourage anyone looking to improve your health, whether it be in the area of weight loss or nutrition, to try a class and see for yourself what Strive can do for you.

It may not show right now but I have been working out on and off for 22 years, Being 30 years old and divorced was my first motivation - went from flabby 140 (what I would do to be that weight now lol) to fit 120. Over the years I have fallen off the wagon more times than I would like to remember, usually gaining more than I lost.Fast forward, this time was especially hard to get back into the swing of things, I'm sure it has a lot to do with age and all the fun things that come with that. Then I found a Facebook post for Strive Fitness and Performance and thought why not fill out the questionnaire and see where this goes. Shortly after I received a phone call from the owner, Derek Ledwidge, we spoke for 30+ minutes, he took the time to get to know me and to explain his program – I was very impressed and decided to join.Derek takes the time to explain and show the proper way of every movement that we will be doing that day also keeps a close watch on each of us that our form is correct. Well I am happy to have lost 5" in the first 3 weeks, I have the attendance part down, showing up every day! Now to start with the food logs and meal prep – Derek is hands on when it comes to explaining the benefits of eating healthy eating and how to accomplish this life style change. So the next three weeks should show greater results - that is my goal.I have saved the best for last – the people that I have met are so accepting and supportive, not one minute have I felt uncomfortable, the FitFam and Derek make me want to go every single day - With that being said, I am very happy to be part of the Strive Fitness and Performance family now and I think this is a perfect fit for me! A while back I learned that I had rupture discs and bone spurs, which resulted in surgery on both my back and neck. The surgery I was ready for, the recovery I was not. Following surgery I was dealing with a lot of pain and was bed ridden for about 6 weeks. Once I was up and on the mend Derek approached me about coming to work out with him. I was quite surprised when he brought it up because he had known about my surgery and everything that I had gone through. I was leery at first and concerned about just how much I could do. Derek was confident that he could put together a personalized plan for me.I decided it was time to give it a try. It's been 3 months since I started working with Derek. I started off slowly with some restrictions. Derek modifies anything needed to keep me moving and progressing. He keeps the workouts interesting and challenging. I have started following his nutritional plan as well. So far I have dropped 20 lbs. and 7 inches. My cholesterol has dropped 37 points and my triglycerides 78 points. I am 55 years old and feel better and stronger than I have in years. I would highly recommend Strive Fitness and Derek to any one at any age.Thanks Derek for all your help and support

It's an amazing place where I've never once felt judged by my size. I am a work in progress and I'm only encouraged to make myself better and it's working! This is the perfect place to workout. No where else can you go to receive the individual attention that you will get at Strive. I have been working out here for about 5 months. I came because I knew I would get lost, confused and discouraged at a big box work out joint. I have received nothing but encouragement and more muscle here. Derek is great as well as the other trainers. It's a great community.

People who support & encourage each other. People who are truly interested in improving their physical & nutritional well being.Derek is just as committed to teaching good nutrition as he is to making sure you are doing the exercises properly.We just finished a 6 week transformation challenge & with some hard work & support from Derek & my gym partners I was able to lose 14 pounds & 15 inches!!!Give Strive a try........you won't be sorry!

I have been a part of the Strive Fitness family for a little over a year now and I can honestly say it's the best decision I have made for myself. Not only do we work out and get stronger physically but mentally as well. Everyone at Strive works together by supporting and encouraging each other. When you have bad days there are always people ready to cheer you up. We were all strangers when we met but now we're a family. When one person succeeds we all do and we are there to cheer all the victories big or small. Derek is always available to listen to individual needs and concerns and I believe that is what sets this fitness facility from the others.
