Oak Strength, formerly Crossfit Roscoe, has a great group of members and coaches. No group has ever been so accepting and less judgmental than the people I have worked out with at this gym. These people can be considered great friends in the gym and outside the gym. However, the management at this facility does not follow suit with the greatness of Oak Strength’s members. As time has progressed the importance of a dollar has greatly shined through with changes at this facility. Programming catered to not improving their athletes to be the best they could be but rather encouraged them to remain as the status quo. If any improvement was requested, this was an additional charge and additional programming to be done outside of normal classes or through personal training sessions. What was taking 1 hour every day now turned into 2 with an additional cost. Also the management did not respect its members or its coaches. The owners would gossip about the members to the staff. They made unwarranted comments regarding personal issues that many members shared with them. Many of the issues were significant as it was tied to health or financial hardships. They also believed that gossip was a reliable source of information to base decisions on. Unfortunately the management at Oak Strength cannot be trusted by the people that need them the most. Making a gym no longer a safe space for its members due to unnecessary, immature drama is unacceptable. Gyms come and go, and any facility that believes this is an ethical and functional way to run a business will find their road to success short lived. I value the friendships and knowledge that I was able to gain through four year Crossfit experience there, however I will no longer ever recommend their services to people looking for a place to start their fitness journey.

Oak Strength is a great place to improve strength, vertical, and endurance. They take the time to focus on each individual athlete to help them specifically. I love working out at Oak Strength!
