I have been training with Richard at RHAX for several months and I can't speak highly enough about the experience! Richard is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, profesional, responsive and approachable. Richard is clearly super thoughtful about how he approaches each individual training program. Our sessions are uniquely tailored to my fitness level, progress, and goals. Each workout is appropriately challenging and so fun. I have learned a lot from Richard about proper technique and in general how to structure a high quality workout. I have seen tangible progress working out with Richard, which has been very rewarding and confidence boosting!

I found Richard on Yelp and I'm so glad I did. I had really gotten out of shape during the pandemic ( couldn't go to the gym. ) Within a couple of months Richard got back me back in shape by gradually increasing my efforts. I'm 65 and Richard is very mindful that I'm being challenged without getting injured. As others has mentioned, Richard has a great personality so it is fun to be coached by him. He's cheerful and careful and always professional. He cares about my nutritional intake and we discuss that frequently. If you need a trainer I can't recommend Richard highly enough.

I have been pretty slim my entire life and I have always felt a little embarrassed because of my slim physique and weak strength. When I first started working with Richard, I could barely finish a proper push-up. I meet with Richard 2-3 sessions/week, and not only did he customize a workout based on what I wanted to focus, but he also provided me with nutritional guidance and helped me tracking my progress. It’s only been 3 months, I gained about 15 lbs which is the most I have ever gained in my life in such short period of time. ALL of my friends, including my own family already noticed and complimented on my physique without me saying anything. I am not at my goal yet, but I already feel stronger and feel more confident. I am certain that Richard will help me get to my goal weight, I have no doubt. He is incredibly knowledgeable (not just about personal training!), highly competent and very accommodating to his clients. I bought the first package of 20 sessions after our first meeting. And I already bought the second package of 20 sessions even before the first package was up because I knew he is the trainer I want to work with in the long-run. Highly highly highly recommended!

I started working with Richard in October 2020 in preparation for my upcoming wedding. Although the pandemic put a wrench in a lot of people's fitness and gym habits, thanks to Richard I was able to stay on track and get in the best shape I have ever been in. I have done crossfit, Barry's, and Orange Theory but have never had this level of expertise with a coach or personal trainer. He keeps the workouts tailored to your needs/experience level and it is always varied. He has also helped hold me accountable for my diet/nutrition plan and it is all definitely paying off. There was no better feeling than hearing my wedding dress needed to be taken in (a lot) at my first fitting. Very thankful to have found Richard!

Richard is amazing! He is extremely knowledgeable about anything fitness/nutrition related, is always happy to answer questions, and will do research specific to your individual needs to make sure your training program is right for you. As someone with a few injuries that still wants to do strength training, I’ve really enjoyed how he challenges and pushes me to be my best in a way that is also safe for my body. I’m a new client but have seen results within just a few weeks and am feeling the healthiest and strongest I ever have. He’s also just fun to hang out with, which is always a plus! I would definitely recommend Richard as a personal trainer and am really excited to keep working with him.

Before I started personal training, I felt unmotivated, weak, and intimated by weights. I used to attend different fitness classes through classpass, but never saw any clear results and was never sure if I was doing the exercises correctly.Now after training with Richard for 20 sessions, I am truly amazed by how much stronger I feel and how much more confident I am in myself!! Richard has educated me about proper form, different workouts, and he always provide insights that are thorough and well-researched. On top of my strength improvement, Richard has educated me on nutrition and helped me be more intentional towards what I eat.What I like most is that Richard is very attentive at listening to your needs and always asking for your feedback towards a particular weight in a workout. I also appreciate that he doesn't compromise form for a heavier weight as he is considerate about preventing any injuries.I feel like I would not have come this far in my fitness journey without the personal training of Richard. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for someone attentive, personable, and effective.

Richard Hsu is a fantastic coach. I've worked with him for over 4 months now and have had an incredibly positive experience and so much fun.Each session is tailored to your specific needs and Richard makes sure you get the most out of your workout. Importantly, he makes sure you develop proper form, posture, and stays safe with each routine. He makes sure the workouts are appropriately challenging, yet realistic to allow you to make consistent gradual progress.In addition, Richard is incredibly friendly and easy going. He makes each session a joy to attend - and is fun to talk to and be around as a friend.Lastly - Richard helps make sure you have a proper diet to maximize the effectiveness of your training. My diet was very poor before meeting Richard (mostly dining out and ordering food delivery) - and with his help I have developed much healthier habits.Would recommend for anyone looking for a fantastic fitness coach! I'm feeling stronger, fitter, and happier as a result of working with him.

I’ve been training with Richard for almost a year and it’s honestly been such a rewarding experience in every way!First, I’ve been actually motivated to go and train! Richard is fun and friendly to work with and does a great job of pushing me just enough.Second, I’ve gotten awesome results!!! I’ve noticeably become much more toned and gained strength and muscle. Richard emphasizes perfecting form and gives solid nutritional recommendations too to help me achieve my goals. Richard has easily delivered the best results of any trainer I've used! He's truly committed to helping you meet your personal fitness goals, and can help you think about your physical progression as well as your diet. He has a diverse range of knowledge; in the time I've trained with him I've done a variety of exercises ranging from weightlifting to TRX.Richard also keeps up with the latest literature on health and fitness. Training with Richard has been both a pleasure and extremely motivating! Each session is thoughtfully customized to my fitness goals and progress, and often switched up to keep exercises interesting and effective. His focus on form and mindfulness of limits versus when to provide encouragement gives comfort that clients can perform the exercises under his coaching without getting injured. It's clear that he has extensive knowledge and understanding of the different techniques and their benefits, as well as overall health and fitness and topical issues. More than that, he is always passionate in discussing and sharing his knowledge of these topics.Since the first week, he has emphasized the importance of diet, and developed a detailed nutritional plan for me. He works with me to track my diet/macros, calorie intake, and weight, while providing ongoing adjustments and feedback. Throughout all of this, Richard challenges and supports me as a friend, with the right balance of coaching and motivation to hold me accountable.I have been training with Richard for the last six months, 1-2 times a week. There has been a clear difference in my core strength and arms. My posture has improved (no more back pain from work), and I've found myself mentally more positive, disciplined, and willing to challenge myself to new levels and activities.Overall, I would highly recommend Richard to anyone new to or familiar with personal training, looking for quality training, healthy and sustainable results, and a less commercialized and more substantive experience.
