Curves Santa Barbara is a great place for busy working women to quickly workout, build muscle and increase strength. Their hydraulic resistance equipment is ready to use and addresses my upper body, lower body and my core. A big plus; the equipment doesn't require any adjusting, you just get on and go! I even add a few yoga poses to my workout routine. I am gaining strength and building muscles while enjoying a fast work out, meeting new friends, and the trainer/manager Denise, featured in these pictures, makes working out so much fun. She's an inspiration!

Over the years I have joined and quit many gyms mainly because of the following reasons.1) I get tired of waiting for the machines I want2) Always have to readjust the weights (if I can remember)3) Aerobic classes are at different times, & change schedules & teachers4) Men are there shopping for pickups5) Most gyms are expensiveI have been at Curves now for over 10 years! The weight training machines use hydraulic pressure calculated by my body's strength. (no adjustments.) The machines are arranged in a circuit with "recovery pads" in between. I, and many of my fit women friends, use those pads to do our own versions of aerobic exercises ranging from the suggested one's on the training screens or our own dance movements. At the end of a half hour of aerobic exercise interspersed with the weight machines, I've had a great workout! I do some stretching and I'm out in 45 minutes, tops. And best of all, if I get to talking with another member, the time flies and I don't even know that I'm exercising. If you're a woman looking for a gym, I highly recommend Curves, Goleta.Call and ask for Denise, best trainer around to get you started!

I have never been more upset with Curves in Goleta closing down their services at 3 pm each day. I do not know how they expect any working person to use their facility. At first they said this would just be summer hours, but September rolled around and still closing at 3 pm. Unacceptable.
