I personally like Uptown location best. It’s spacious, offers a lot of classes and the front staff is welcoming & friendly. They offer towels and the sanitizing wipes are always stocked. It gets busy but I was always able to find a parking spot. My health insurance offers Active & Fit program however the Santa Barbara Golds Gyms do NOT participate in that program. I was staying in Santa Barbara for two months and this was the closest gym to my housing so that why I went with it. They have some great merchandise to purchase as well which made my memory of Santa Barbara that much better! Out of all the gyms in the are (I did tour many) Golds had everything I wanted to optimize my workouts. I’m a class girlie and having many classes to choose from was super important to me.

I can't say anything about the other locations as I only use the uptown gym. This place is adequate. I've taken a yoga class which was ok. Lots of seniors. The downside of this gym is that it's always super packed. upstairs and downstairs. You kind of have to time it if you can at the10-11am, 1-2pm time slots if you can. Most people are pretty chill, haven't dealt with too too many meatheads or creepers. I generally just like to get in, get some work done on the machines and then hit the treadmill and get out.

Best value gym in town hands down. My favorite part about this gym is the 'Bikram style' yoga that is offered for a bit more $ on top of the monthly membership. However, it is priced very reasonably and the instructors are amazing. Cindy, Martyntje, Veronica, Javier, Johny, and Marilyn thank you so much for guiding our classes. As for the gym equipment, it's maintained really well and the staff are friendly/helpful.The only thing I would really like to see here is a cold plunge

This is a location that provides the full Gold’s Gym experience! Great parking! Great staff! It never feels too busy because of the amount of equipment.A special thank to Ryan at the front desk for being so knowledgeable and connecting me to sales and having excellent customer service skills. Also a shout out to Chris from sales for taking the time to reach out and connect. Can’t wait to be back again!

They were so rude. They denied us the free trial because our primary residence isn’t Santa Barbara (though we are here every month). Then, they refused to sell us an energy drink rudely asking if I was “even a member”.

Thank goodness there is a yoga spot here in Santa Barbara that honors the legacy of Bishnu Charan Ghosh!!! Right here inside the Gold’s! I love the 26&2 hot yoga sequence and am grateful this is available. The instructors are great with the dialogue and the community is so good to be a part of. The room is well heated with good humidity-and it feels soooo good these cooler months!! This is definitely one of the places that helps me feel that I’m at home :)

Just as someone else stated, the 7 day free trial is a scam to get you into the gym. They feed you some line about how busy it is so they cant honor it but then tell you to take the card you brought to give to a friend so they can try the gym as well. Are you guys too busy for the trials or not?So if you are ready to sign up for a gym same day, which is what they want you to do, just go to a better gym that isn't going to start the transaction with lies to get you in the door.

One day while I was working at my job downtown a marketing representative from golds came into our restaurant and asked to speak to the owner. We got the owner and the marketing representative explained they are trying to get new members so he handed out 7 day trial membership cards to all the employees. My friend goes to golds so I thought to myself “great, I can go with him for a week and try it out”. So I go in to try it out last week (mind you this is like 2 days after I am given the 7 day card) and the lady at the front desk tells me “yah we are trying to keep the gym less crowded for members so I’m not going to honor that card. I can let you in today but that’s it.” I was legitimately wanting to try and maybe join before she said that to me. I will absolutely NEVER join this gym now just because of that. Who the heck hands out trial memberships to attract new members and then says you actually can’t use it when you come in.

Great yoga classes. Yoga sculpt with James is a great way to start the week. The class encourages balance and strength. I always leave knowing I’m improving both. Kathryn (Kat)’s yoga class is a beautiful flow, she has the calmest yoga tone of voice to help relax the mind and body….if only she taught more times throughout the week (the 1845 is a little hard to swing). Nice facility and friendly staff.

The hot yoga there is amazing!! I took a Bikram class and am so glad there’s a place that teaches the classic 26 postures still. The teacher Veronica was strong and helped me with my poses- she was incredible! I also love that the towels are provided, saved me laundry.
