I didn’t think I would like it here. But spoiler alert (did the 5-⭐️ rating give it away?) I LOVE IT!I’ve been a fitness enthusiast my entire adult life, even owning my own Barre studio for 8 years, but I’ve never lifted heavy. I didn’t want to “bulk” up and I thought it would make me feel tight and immobile.Well, much to my surprise and delight, the opposite happened. I’ve leaned out since I committed to 2-3 classes/week nearly 3 months ago. I also feel more mobile and balanced in my body than I have in years. Nagging, chronic hip, back, and shoulder injuries have all but disappeared too (huge bonus, as I’m approaching 40).Another reason I was hesitant to try this gym (despite the fact that many of my movement peers whom I respect have sang it’s praises through the years) is because I thought it lacked the kind of supportive community I seek in a gym or studio.m home. Wrong again. Sure it’s co-ed, which is new to me, but at Body of Learning, it’s all about me vs. me with the encouragement of the men and women doing the same hard thing next to me.During my 1st class, a veteran member told me “BOL is like Olive Garden, when you’re here, you’re family.” And it’s true!

Community is very supportive. I have a love/somewhat hate relationship with small gyms. Love that the classes are small enough to get 1:1 support and correction when doing a set incorrectly. On the flip side I somewhat hate that I can be seen, especially when I’m fighting for my life and need to take a break from a set 🤣. But in all seriousness at no point do I feel discouraged from taking a break when I need to. The trainers don’t want you to get hurt but do want you to push yourself!

Such a positive environment with amazing results. Friendly and it’s fun. I’ve never had such a good time pushing myself this hard.

Steve has been awesome to train with at A Body of Learning. I appreciate that he is always focused in small group training, correcting our form and giving us tips to improve our strength. The classes are always changing which keeps it exciting. Recently I've been training with him while pregnant and his classes have been crucial In helping me maintain my leg, core and back strength. The studio is clean, has bathrooms and water available, and is always bumping good jams. A Body of Learning is a must of you live in the area!
