I travel for a living for my business and therefore I’ve been to countless gyms. I have no experienced such unprofessional behavior in any gym I’ve been too! Not to mention, the gym, was terrible, equipment was rushing! The little boy who was there, trying to sell me a membership and that was his only goal, so unprofessional and overall just terrible gym and staff!!

This location will call and harass you to sign up for memberships. I was a member here in the past and discontinued due to the terrible management and cleanliness. Sunday mornings at 9am are absolutely not the appropriate time to cold call for memberships. Completely classless.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting this gym that can only be described as a complete disaster. The dirty conditions, terrible employees, and lack of quality equipment made it a nightmare from start to finish. I feel obligated to share my review and warn others about the abysmal state of this facility.Upon entering the gym, I was immediately struck by the overwhelming filth that permeated the entire space. It was evident that cleanliness was not a priority for the management or staff. The locker rooms were even worse, with foul odors, unkempt showers, and dirty, stained walls. I couldn't help but feel disgusted and uncomfortable in such an unsanitary environment.To make matters worse, the gym's employees were unprofessional and apathetic. It seemed as though they had no interest in assisting or guiding members. Whenever I approached them with questions or concerns, they displayed a blatant lack of knowledge and disinterest in providing any sort of help. Their customer service skills were non-existent, leaving me feeling frustrated and ignored. It was abundantly clear that the staff had no motivation to create a positive and supportive atmosphere for gym-goers.The equipment at this gym was another disappointment. Most of the machines were outdated, in disrepair, or simply non-functional. I encountered treadmills that were stuck at one speed, weight machines with broken cables, and dumbbells that were missing their pairs. It was an accident waiting to happen. Not only did the faulty equipment hinder my workout, but it also raised concerns for my safety. It was evident that the gym had no intention of investing in quality equipment or maintaining what they already had.To add insult to injury, the prices for this subpar gym were shockingly high. It was mind-boggling how they could justify charging such exorbitant fees for a facility that clearly lacked the most basic standards of cleanliness, employee professionalism, and equipment maintenance. It felt like a complete rip-off, and I couldn't help but feel cheated out of my hard-earned money.In summary, I strongly advise against setting foot in this disastrous gym. The dirty conditions, terrible employees, and lack of quality equipment make it a complete waste of time and money. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by seeking out a gym that prioritizes cleanliness, employs knowledgeable and helpful staff, and maintains their equipment to ensure a safe and pleasant workout environment. This gym falls far short of even the most basic expectations and should be avoided at all costs.

Big space, easy location, good range of equipment, front desk was friendly. But equipment is rusted, negkected and many cardio machines are inoperable. And virtually none of the clientele returns plates or dumbbells to the stacks and racks.

DO NOT GO HERE THE EMPLOYEES WILL CHASE YOU IN THE PARKING LOT AND HARASS YOU!! I Got harrased over the phone to come in to try the gym. Finally got tired of it so decided to go in and give it a try despite the reviews, and because I wanted to stop being harrased over the phone. went to the free-weight section and i could find a bench that wasn't broken and also could find the weight i needed nor could I find a matching pair for any other weight. All of the equipment looked like a tetanus shot waiting to happen, and as a small, and young female I just didn't feel safe. So i left without even starting my workout, and then I GOT RUN DOWN IN THE PARKING LOT BY AN EMPLOYEE AND THEN HARRASED IN MY CAR FOR NOT WANTING A MEMBERSHIP

I just go for the classes now instead of the full gym usage like I used to. This location in Southfield is long overdue for a thorough deep cleaning. I've seen the same stains and spider webs on the same walls and in the same corners for over 6 months now. The cycle room and fitness class studio needs much attention. I've discussed this with management and their corporate leadership but no results. The location is incredibly convenient but not always worth it depending on how you utilize your LA Fitness membership. I enjoy the classes so I keep my membership. The 915am Cycle class with Ernesto is phenomenal!!!! I venture to the Livonia location which is much cleaner for a better experience when I want to use weight machines or free weights. The Southfield location parking lot is plagued with potholes and no one has addressed this for years now. Makes no sense

So I was team la fitness…until I went to planet fitness (the one on 696 & 10 mile) and wow! The 12 mile la fitness is very sub par compared to them. That location is dirty & the machines are old and rusty. I’m not sure why I didn’t leave sooner…and not to mention the HUGE potholes in the parking lot. Yea that place has a lot of improvements to make

LA Fitness should be ashamed. There should be no reason why this location is so out of date and unsatisfactory compared to their other locations. One of the benefits of a membership is being able to go to different locations and have the same experience.The staff is friendly and helpful.90% of the machines are old and rusted.I counted at least 3 with Out of Order signs and 2 more that didn't work but didn't have signs.The air filtration is horrible and because of it the whole gym smells very musty. As you would imagine a room would smell with a lot of people all working out at the same time.The basketball court smells even worse. You smell it just walking past.This gym deserves an upgrade on par with the other locations.

Employees and managers are amazing. Very kind and welcoming. Plenty of machines. Plenty of room and space. Some (a lot) of the machines could really use an upgrade or some maintenance besides that it’s a great place to go. The classes are great as well.
