Absolutely great gym! Best gym I've been to. Great program, the kids are taught not only how to box , but life lessons as well. Education is a big part of the program and it's amazing how many kids and adults the owner/ Coach Smitty saves on a daily basis! Highly recommend his gym !!!

I joined Smitty's Boxing Gym because I was looking for a way to work out and get in shape, while also having some accountability built into my workouts at the same time.I do enjoy boxing, but I mostly go to the gym as a workout. Therefore, I'm not like a serious competitive boxer or anything like that. With that being said, I've had a really good experience at Smitty's. I've lost about 16 pounds since joining back in December (so I've only been going for about 4 months).Smitty and the other coaches (Alicia and Arturo) immediately started holding me accountable, giving me tips for how to improve my boxing, and just basically helping me to make the most of my workouts. Coach Smitty teaches that hard work will get you results... and I completely agree. I like the diligent work-ethic mentality espoused by the gym, and feel at home in it.The workouts aren't always easy! But when you do them, and you stay consistent, and you listen to the coaches and do your best, you WILL see results. As far as I'm concerned, I'm a Smitty's Midwest Boxing Gym family member for life. It's where I plan to continue working out to get into better shape and build up my fitness.Big thanks to all of the coaches who help to keep me accountable. I also love to see how the kids who work out in the gym are growing and becoming amazing athletes. These kids have a very bright future due to the guidance and training they receive at the gym. It's just overall a place that will help you to not only get in shape and learn how to box, but to also become a better person. Plus, coach Smitty is really all about safety, responsibility, and doing things correctly. He's really a master of the craft and he makes sure that everyone stays safe, does the workouts correctly, etc. It's just a great place.Personally, I think that more people need to come to the gym and work out. It just makes life better in so many ways.

I've had the pleasure to get to know coach Smitty the past few years through local kids organizations that I serve at. I was impressed by how the kids that he coaches act in and outside the ring. He truly cares about his boxers and what is best for their future. He runs a top amateur & professional boxing business that also gives back to the community. Coach Smitty goes over and beyond for his boxers and he is the very knowledgeable about what it takes to bring out the best in his boxers. He is an overall solid person that is trying to make the world a better place and a difference in kids lives that usually don't have a lot given to them.
