We loved the Tiny Tigers program and adored our instructors. Any concerns I had for my son, the intructors would immediately jump into action to help. The program benefited my child’s confidence and discipline. Unfortunately we decided we had to abruptly withdraw our 5 year old son from the program because of how our finances was handled… or not handled. We enrolled in August of 2019 and signed a 1 year contract. In April 2020, we paid for 6 months’ tuition to receive a 20% discount. The following is what led to our decision to withdraw because ultimately how the issues were handled left a bad taste in my mouth. People who handle other’s money in the following manners should not be entrusted with my children’s education for trust, discipline and respect.1.We paid tuition through October 2020 but began getting autobilled again in August.2.I brought up the issue via text to the manager and followed up regularly over the course of a month and a half without a resolution- only short, unhelpful responses.3.I was only credited back the amount they wrongfully charged when I reached out to my bank. Chase issued me a credit for the 2 charges that Lee’s took. Lee’s has never resolved this issue ($250)4.I asked the manager several times over text and in person to take my card off file so that it would not be autocharged, she said okay each time but then the next month I would be charged again5.I was wrongfully charged 3 months (August, September, October) before finally deciding I no longer wanted to deal with the issues. I asked to withdraw my son from the program because I knew my contract ended in August.6.The manager told me that my contract auto renewed- I did not sign for a new contract and nowhere on the original contract did it state that it would autorenew. She insisted I would have to pay for 2 months’ of tuition to withdraw my son. I asked for the copy of what I signed and nowhere on that contract did it state that it autorenews or that I would have to pay any sort of fee to withdraw once the contract was over7.I finally decided that the manager was absolutely no help in the situation. I went through the Chief’s husband, Mr. Landgren, who issued me a check for October’s withdraw but did not resolve the wrongful charges from August or September. It is still an open case with my bank and when I followed up with Chase, they said the merchant was not returning any of their contact attempts.I would not recommend this studio to other families. You will soon come to realize the program is only set up for families to spend as much money as possible there. With all of the “advance” classes, level advancements even without really showing any improvement, equipment, “tournaments” and “charity” fundraising.I don’t appreciate being lied to or disregarded, especially when it comes to money. If I had not taken this further than the manager, I would still be out $375.00. It’s a lot of money and I stressed that multiple times to the manager who did not seem to care about it.Find a different martial arts studio or a different sport, keep your card away from them.

We have been a part of thia community since 2013. My children have been students for 7+ years and the growth in confidence, self esteem, and strength of character I have seen in my children is amazing!

We have been bringing my 8 yr old son here for several months. They have been so good about meeting him where he is and encouraging him along the journey. We are so thankful for the growth we have seen in our son!

Great place to train TKD! The staff are friendly, inclusive and great martial artists! The instruction is clear and corrections are specific and easy to understand. We were at a different studio and have been very pleased after moving here! The COVID procedures are on point with temperature checks and disinfectant sprayed between classes. Everyone wears a mask and we are socially distanced.Highly recommend this place for children and adults!

I took my nephew. Had a flyer for a discount. Asked if we can do the 20 for 2 weeks they said yes. Now They refused to take flyer saying one coupon could be used. No where on the flyer does it say that nor when asked about the 20 for 2 weeks to try they mention anything. They give these flyers to schools for kids who can’t really afford things. And I mentioned that and it helping boost his confidence. She was very short and said no, it’s our policy! Wow what happened to your motto integrity, honesty! So sad he won’t be going anymore!!! Don’t go to this one!!!!!

This is an update to my former review...Shout out to Lee's and staff for their amazing care during the COVID struggle!!! They have been amazing throughout. Instructors were faithful and kind about helping students continue to train at home through Zoom classes when we could not meet in person. Working out is one of the things that keeps our young boy focused and learning in school. They helped so many families with remote learning so that parents could go to work and have their children lovingly assisted in their education. As things began to open up again, the staff continues to be diligent in cleaning practices as well as assuring students are able to train with less risk of illness than even before the pandemic. Having known the owner for more than 30 years and our grandson being a second generation student there, we wouldn't have our grandson train anywhere else in the valley. Thank you, Chief Master, Ms. Hill, Mr. Benton, and Ms. Castella for your hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes throughout this season!!! Our grandson CANNOT WAIT to get to class everyday!!!From last year:Our grandson (who lives with us) attends this academy and loves it! He started 3+ years ago when he was a very frightened, emotionally fragile little 4 year old. Not one staff member has ever been anything other than polite, professional, and genuinely concerned for the growth and well being of not only our boy, but the 3yo to OLD students. They are disciplined themselves so their students follow suit and learn to be self disciplined in their own lives. They have a special way of dealing with special needs individuals and watching them that is amazing. Our grandson achieved his first degree black belt in a little less than 3 years. He has found his confidence and happily chooses to participate in leadership training! We love the confident young man he is becoming! Most days there is a line of people needing information or to schedule extra classes for their student or purchase equipment. The young lady at the desk handles it beautifully even when the occasional grumpy parent comes along. We have recommended many families to this school. We think Lee’s ATA Tempe is the perfect fit for our grandson’s needs.
