Anytime Fitness

I like the location. But the TVs hardly ever work on the Treadmills. And the toilets keep backing up. The maintenance needs to step it up. I love other Anytime Fitness gyms in other cities. That is why I keep my Membership. I travel a lot.

When something is broken it takes months to fix. I quit going to this location for quite a while but came back to try again. Same old situation things break they don’t fix. So part of the equipment works. Wonder if I can pay just part of my membership fee. It’s too bad they don’t seem to have a standard. Location is convenient so two stars for that.

BEWARE!! MEMBERSHIP IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL!!!I enrolled at this gym in 2019.Have been trying to cancel the membership since July 2020...No one picks up the phone.Sent a letter that they claim they couldn't find...Was told email letter would be enough to cancel membership by prior manager.Today the new manager calls me saying that email or phone communications are not enough and I need to send a certified letter by regular mail to cancel membership.Of course, my bank account is still drafted every month...

Truth be told I should have known better. The manager was seldom there when I did visit or even when I tried to sign up. However now that my membership is up and I'd like to cancel they are impossible to get a hold of and will only cancel in person. The listed phone number doesn't work and they don't go to work unless you have an appointment between 9AM-5PM Mon-Fri. YOU have to miss work to cancel your membership subscription and the contract is indefinite. This is a shady way to do buisness. They have lost all my respect and I will never do buisness with this company again.This is not my first or last review of this facility. I will be contacting the BBB and leaving more reviews anywhere this facility is listed.

I have tried three times to speak to someone at anytime fitness and yes it was during the business hours and it wasn't anywhere near lunch time, and I have left messages three times just to try to re-up my membership that I let lapse. Apparently my business is not wanted there and nobody ever calls back and nobody is ever there this is not my first go-round either with this club. They just do not care and I guess there's no way to get in touch with whoever is over the manager to tell them how poor it really is. Really sad because it is right down the road from where I work and I would prefer this club but cannot get anyone to talk to me there and it doesn't make me want to go there

Went in on a Monday during the staffed hours around 3pm to join when I was greeted by a sign saying that management had left. Repeat again on Tuesday. Called them on Tuesday afternoon and got no call back until Thursday. Wednesday I went back to finally find someone working there around 4pm and was not greeted at all. The person working didn’t even stand up to greet me. He didn’t walk out the office or ask anything about what I was looking for. Instead he asked for my age and said I looked like I “was too young to join and I’m sure that I get that a lot”. I felt like I was totally being taken advantage of in what I wanted and wasn’t given serious consideration as a new client. Some of the worse customer service I have ever received from a business. I would not recommend anytime fitness. Many other local gyms in Tyler that are friendly and cheaper.

This gym is the most convenient for me to go to. However I’m going to make the drive to one further because the management of this gym is severely lacking. No one is ever here, i see so many people walk in to speak to someone in the office and there is no one here to help them. I’m not sure if the air conditioner isn’t working in the building but it is uncomfortably hot and humid. If i wanted to work out in this condition i would run outside.

Since new owners took over facility has gone down, not nearly as clean , cables always hang on cable machine and TV's don't work on most of the cardio equip. They will tell you anything to get you signed up but thats not the truth down the road, I wasn't even under contract and they still won't cancel membership, told me i could cancel grandsons membership anytime but can't get that done either, they LIE big time, be careful what you sign , they don't tell you the truth

So NOT sign a contract with them. Horrible experience, after being a member with anytime for more than a decade. I canceled the card my membership was being charged to, because it was lost. I had not been in a gym of Anytime for over 6 months, They continued to charge me late fees and basically had to resign to make things right. They were not understanding and still held me accountable for back payments and late fees. After being a member that long, I would expect more, but they are a corporate gym and customers are treated as such. After resigning, I still did not use their gym and went to cancel after a month. They processed a payment that day and said I would be charged another payment. So, they got another $70 out of me and I haven't been in ANY Anytime fitness in 9 months. Stay with a local gym and do not get in a contract with them!!!!

The facility is great. It was not crowded during the early evening hours (5-7PM). What's cool about this place is the fact that they have a hydro-therapy bed; I didn't use it but it looked cool. There's a tanning bed for those who like doing that. The start-up cost is pricey; I wish they had a month-to-month option.
