Love this place. I have been coming here for the past few years and really enjoy it. A few of the staff members (Phillip and Tuli) seem to always be going above and beyond and have taught me so much about climbing. I’m always happy to be going to Boulderdash

Great climbing gym. I just did bouldering, and it was awesome. There are tons of routes, fair grades, and a good atmosphere. Would definitely go back!

Confused as to the policies of the climbing gym which allowed the staff member to treat myself and my sister in an extremely condescending tone. I have been climbing for years, whilst my sister is new to the sport and has only ever belayed with a grigri. In order for her to belay she needed to pass a test in which she only used a ATC. She had never used one and the staff member was “not allowed” to teach a new climber how to use a device before failing her and not letting enjoy the gym facilities. How do you expect to let new climbers learn and climb if they are not taught how to use a device??? (keeping in mind we had a Grigri on us which we were told we were not allowed to use?)It was a extremely rude experience and made my sister feel uncomfortable and not welcome to a climbing gym where she could have just had a quick introduction into how to use a ATC before we then could enjoy the faculties. We are from Australia where every gym welcomes new climbers and introduces them to the gear and how to use them before then watching how they feel on the gear, instead of acting like she was useless for not being able to figure out the device straight away with no prior experience. A very hostile experience.

Took my lead class here and Tuli was a fantastic teacher! He was incredibly helpful and made me feel confident by the end of the class. He answered additional questions in great detail, including my questions about outdoor leading! Thanks again for such a great experience!

I've been coming here for some time now, and have really enjoyed it so far. However, climbing at other gyms, I can see that this is a relatively average-below average gym for regular climbers. It's small, the hours are not so great, and the staff can be inconsistently kind or rude, helpful or plain lazy (within the same staff members). I feel like it's successful and has no need to improve because it's the only gym around for miles. Recently they've had an issue with a non-member abusing guest passes to climb many times a month, so they justified punishing all their customers by only allowing 1 non-member 1 time guest pass usage, *ever*. Wouldn't it have been more fair to only allow 1 non-member 1 guest pass use per month instead? This would also solve having every last Sunday be super crowded in an already small gym. It feels like they wanted to punish the abuser at the expense of everyone else, instead of just implementing a fair rule.Still, I give it 3 stars since the resetting frequency has improved, for the times the staff has been nice, and for the community there. It's not a bad gym by any means, but it's certainly not a great gym either. I think new management, renovation, or a second location would be awesome.

Great spot!! Climbed here four times while visiting Ventura. Staff were incredibly friendly. Really fun traverse track. The climbs I tried had varied, interesting, and overall awesome setting. Other climbers in the gym were really friendly too. Will definitely return if I'm in the area again. Thanks!!

We Started to come here recently with the kids, and now I can't keep them away! The staff has always been great with the kids and are always helpful with my many questions. We've climbed at different times of the day and the crowd is always different but friendly. Check this place out!

Absolutely love coming here! Only been twice and I love it. The worker is so kind and shares his knowledge. The community here is nice and help each other. I also love listening to the music they play over the speakers. They have bathrooms and renting the shoes are $5.00. They also have daily passes for $25.00.

We loved it. We had a group outting with our Cub Scout pack and their families and even my 3 year old got to participate. The staff was helpful and friendly. They knew exactly how to handle the kids.

As a mom, I appreciate the safe friendly atmosphere here. My kids love it, are never bored and often bring their friends. I've been able to join climbers when I don't have a climbing partner. Since the belay test is thorough and strict, I know anyone in there can safely belay me. The routes and boulder problems are creative and challenging. Simply staying fit or focusing on climbing is convenient because membership includes all 3 gyms!!! I'm able to pop in for a quick traverse or climb from 530pm to closing. I've been able to climb outside with other families because the gym is a great meeting place for competent climbers. I don't look at this place as a workout gym but more of a membership to a healthy lifestyle which is invaluable. Where else can families and friends (uncles, teenagers, grandparents, siblings) hang out in an active healthy way? I've a photo of my 80 yr. old mom climbing. She has MS so anyone can do it and Boulderdash was especially helpful and patient with her!
