I had an excellent time training BJJ at Beta academy, and I hope to train there again soon when work travels take me back to DC. Isaac and the other instructors and members of this gym were all extremely welcoming, the instruction was rigorous, and the rolling was excellent. (For context, I've been training 4.5yrs, and have a purple belt.)

My biggest issue with membership is that they would cancel classes and not have a way to be updated. They would ask you to call prior to coming in but the class I was interested in was first class in the morning so there was no on there to …

Beta Academy definitely has instructors that know what they're doing. They compete often and travel. Before you sign a contract with them keep in mind if you cannot keep up for the full contract there is a $200 contract break fee. They're …

Watch out! They will sign you to an iron clad contract that will keep extending year after year. It is very difficult to stop the contract once you sign. Make no mistake this place is strictly there to get you to sign a long-term contract. …

BEST GYM IN DC! Awesome coaches and great team spirit. I've trained at a lot of martial arts schools around the country and BETA is top notch. There is a focused team-like atmosphere that helps you push yourself and enjoy the class. I highly recommend trying them out!!

BETA Academy is the best place to train in the DC area. The staff is friendly, the instructors are professional and the training is top notch. It's best part of my day going to train at BETA. There are classes all day and always people to roll with. They also make the coolest shirts in town.

BETA has the nicest facility, best instructors, and most competent management of the many martial arts schools I've experienced. Can't say enough good things but if you're reading this review because you're considering signing up- you wont regret it.

Awesome place to train and grow as a martial arts practitioner!! Training here for almost two years has not only given me new tools and actual arm muscles (!!), but an increased confidence in my personal safety and overall happiness. I can honestly say that BETA has become a second family and I highly recommend it for anyone (male or female) looking to get in shape, learn something new, and/or continue to develop their skills in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and/or Muay Thai.

Gotta love BETA!! I recently started training under the Muay Thai Foundations (kickboxing) program two months ago at BETA and all I know is before I came to this school I knew nothing with regards to what I know now in terms of fighting (elbows, knees, etc) and/or defending myself. The staff has been super helpful and interested in my personal development in the training sessions. In the two months that I have been there every single class I leave knowing how to do something new or knowing how to do something better plus feeling great. What they are asking in terms of price is well worth it. I totally recommend this school (ahem, excuse me....ACADEMY!!) to anyone interested in bettering their life.

I took classes for about 6months before work became too much but I have to say the teaching and dedication by each instructor was amazing. I had a great time, trained with others that had varying levels of experience from beginner to intermediate white belts and learned more than I ever thought possible.
