Efe is lovely and clearly goes above and beyond and her role & trying to solve customer issues! By far the warmest and most welcoming solid core I’ve been to. Will be returning 😈 …

I never write reviews but for this place I will. First of all I have been a fitness junky throughout my entire life specifically focused on aesthetic goals. I used to take Pure Barre classes in Charlottesville with amazing instructors who go around and, because they understand how your body should be moving even on the tiniest level, they adjust you properly through movements. I won’t say this Solidcore doesn’t kind of adjust you but if you are someone who falls into bad form easily or won’t pay attention to those little things like knee or pelvis or toe placement / direction- don’t expect that kind of help. Because of this, I gained one inch of muscle on my waistline just after one class (I do gain muscle quickly- and yes I base measurements off of mornings after sleeping so no the inch was not from post class swelling). I understand that it’s uncomfortable to go around fixing form to an extreme level that I mention but it’s really needed in fitness methods involving this much core usage. Pilates and barre variants are only as effective as your form. Also, the instructors are very kind except for one. I didn’t track her name because she was subbing for someone but she was really rude as soon as I walked in and then to someone else as well. In my personal situation I had come in and started stashing items in the shelf on the wall because the one single class prior I had taken the instructor had said that was ok and what they were there for. She looked at me as I was doing that and said “are you new here?” in the most derogatory tone completely unnecessary considering nobody was arguing with or offending her. It made me so uncomfortable. She did something later to someone else that I can’t remember but I remember how uncomfortable it made me feel. All in all that alone was enough to make me dislike this place- I’m forcing myself to do a tough workout and now you want me to deal with someone so high up on their horse they don’t know how to be polite and welcoming?By this point, I had already stupidly signed up for the 12 month membership because I had thought I’d really enjoy going as I had previously enjoyed going to Cyclebar and then Pure Barre when I had memberships at those spots. After another month or two of not using it, I decided to cancel. The contract I signed clearly stated “if you wish to terminate your membership prior to the completion of your twelve month contract, subject to the 30 day notice, you will incur an early termination fee of one month of your current membership rate.” They then hit me with a this will actually cost you two months of your membership rate because “in the Terms and Conditions says it.” I signed a contract that clearly states “if you wish to terminate your membership prior to the completion of your twelve month contract, subject to the 30 day notice, you will incur an early termination fee of one month of your current membership rate.” Why do you have that stated in your contract so clearly and simply if you’re going to double back and go “oh wait actualllllyyy it’s more complicated then that”? I imagine that causes just general awkwardness for your employees as they have to deal with these complaints and commentaries from people’s confusions. The statement doesn’t even have an addendum noted!!

[Solidcore] is an amazing workout-unlike anything else. Emily Stewart is one of the best coaches in the DC area. Definitely go take her class!

I took my first Solidcore class with Linda N. two weeks ago. Linda N. taught a fantastic class. She was informative, supportive and empowering. I would highly recommend Solidcore Navy Yard ! The work out was challenging yet empowering and rewarding !

Excellent workout! The coaches are amazing and extremely supportive of each client. It’s a community feel, but each person has an individual workout, getting out of it what they put in. I’m a gym devotee, but made the jump to [solidcore] 2 years ago and it’s become my primary workout. I can’t say enough about how much you walk away with after each class: community, high fives, shakey muscles, sweat from a great workout, a felling of accomplishment, etc.

I've been doing reformer Pilates for a couple of years now, so I decided to challenge myself with the megaformer at solidcore. The studio @ Navy Yard smells so good and is very accommodating. My instructor Nefertiti was EXCELLENT. Before class started she instructed me on how to adjust my machine and let me know what directives to expect in my first class. I am still sore, but in a good way and will be returning to Nefertiti's class.

One of the best solidcore studios I have been to! The instructor was very friendly and helpful. Also, the workout itself was very challenging and fun.
