SWEAT DC is a community. It focuses on strength training with an emphasis on progressive overload. They’ve recently expanded their HIIT classes. Most group classes are held between 6-8am, 12 noon, and 5-7pm. I’m between those times, you can book a personal training appointment with talented male and female coaches.I’ve been coming here for about a year. I was new to strength training and weight lifting and I’m glad that I started with personal training to focus on form. Then I graduated to the classes. If you’ve done strength training before, you will likely be able to jump in feet first. I was scared to do that and would have been overwhelmed. What I love about SWEAT is that the staff here make an effort to know your name. That’s unusual anywhere. It’s also super inclusive, with rainbow and BLM flags and they mean it. The SWEAT team has actively worked to build a wonderful community where everyone is welcome.

This is definitely a great workout place and the classes that they have here are awesome! I arrived here Saturday morning at 9am for my first visit, and the class was full. There was a class at am which was slightly late for me. definitely an interesting concept and I think that the instructors make all of the difference here. My plan now is to return tomorrow, this time coming early. This gym is happening!

I travel for work for a few months at a time so I've tried many different gyms. Not that it shows. Anyway, there are 3 parts to why I love Sweat. 1. The coaches. The coaches are really friendly and are great about making you feel confident/comfortable with new types of exercises/weights. I've witnessed this with everyone, no matter your size or experience level. 2. The workouts. I love that their workouts are designed to prevent injury. The workout has a prep session to get you ready for the bigger part of the workout with similar movements. I think too many gyms lose sight on the importance of proper form preventing injuries. 3. The music. If I had one, i'd sell my first born to get access to their old school playlists.

these workouts are fun and challenging - the way exercising should be! highly recommend taking classes with Sergio. he's extremely knowledgeable, high energy, has a great playlist to help you keep pumping, funny, and the best pilot to GAINS-ville!

SWEAT DC is a great group fitness studio that focuses on proper strength training. If you’re new to the gym space but want to start lifting, this gym will set you up for success. The coaches are awesome at what they do, the atmosphere is welcoming and encouraging! If you’re looking for a new home, where everyone will know your name and get strong at the same time…Sweat DC is it!

If you want an intense workout that will get you in shape quick, this is it. Great vibes, coaches, music, etc. Highly recommend. Suits various fitness levels, but even a college athlete wouldn't want to take more than one class a day.

I love starting my week at Sweat DC when I can. The classes are motivating, challenging, and help me feel more confident with weight training. Bonus that both the coaches and other class participants are so friendly and make sure everyone feels welcome and ready to do their best work. They've also been helpful with double checking my form when something didn't feel right. I have to walk two miles to get to Sweat and keep coming back because the energy is unbeatable.

SWEAT DC is the best gym in DC! I attended classes/intro sessions at 4 other gyms in the Petworth/Capitol Hill/Columbia Heights area when I first moved to DC before finding SWEAT, and I can say that there is no comparison! SWEAT DC has a great schedule of affordable classes - each class will keep you moving and your heart-rate up for the full class duration (other gyms I tried only had limited movement during the class, or were ridiculously expensive for only a few classes a month). I have been attending classes for almost a year now and I am stronger, more flexible, and have more endurance then when I began, to the point I am adding more weight to my workouts when I never thought I would! The instructors are also top notch - they know the gym members by name, pick great workout music, and are incredibly motivating. They push you to do your best, while adapting movements for you if you ask, without being pushy. I love their positivity and daily inspirations. Overall I am so glad I found SWEAT DC in my neighborhood!

I took my first ever class this past Saturday.Pros:Great music !Instructor was inviting , did well with circulating the classroom, and encouraged participants to engage with one another.Tv visuals to see exercises.Cons:Parking is journey. There is only one bathroom. The workout seems to be premade and did not give many alternatives for individuals who are not beginners. I say this because the TV screens did not show progressions or regressions.Price point- I am current member of LifeTime and for the price point I have access to multiple gyms and alpha classes and it still would be more affordable. It was overall a good experience and it would take another free community class.
