MWR Fitness Center in North Chicago offers a well-stocked facility with a variety of equipment, ideal for bodybuilding and general fitness. Located at the Naval Station Great Lakes, it operates from 5 AM to 1 PM on weekdays and remains closed on weekends. Visitors praise the gym for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and the wide range of classes and group workouts available. Active involvement from the trainers and the owner adds to the supportive environment, making it a popular choice for a quick workout before work or during lunch hours.
However, the center tends to get crowded, and female members may feel uncomfortable due to safety concerns in the locker room area. Additionally, the use of hex plates might be a disadvantage for those focusing on deadlifts.

Ladies don't come here. They don't value your safety in the locker rooms when other women are taking selfie. You are better off going to another fym on base or a different gym outside of the base.

Small and cozy. It's got what you need. It's on the second floor so don't get lost💪 …

This gym has sufficient equipment and machines especially if your training is more designed towards bodybuilding. But if you're trying to deadlift, it might be difficult since all they have are the hex plates. Aside from that, It's a decent gym.

This place gets crowded! You just gotta know the right time to come here. Clean facility and very nice staff. So many programs that they offer. Yoga, zumba, spin classes and more! Like the usual at any gym locations beware of the old people in the lockers. They like to walk around naked and sit everywhere naked and bend over....naked. O_O

Great location and a well stocked fitness center. They have free weights, machine weights and any aerobic equipment you could need. The staff are always available and they do support a good number of fitness classes and group workouts as well. Hours are very convenient.

Great gym, has enough space and enough equipment to get any workout done. Sometimes it does get a little crowded but there is always something open that you can work on.
