Do NOT come here under any circumstances. I used to come here up until I was 11 during their summer camp programs. I was horrendously bullied by two coaches named Nick and Lexi (the one with blonde hair, not the brunette) who would constantly accuse me and of talking back to them after I had an anxiety attack that made it difficult for me to move or breathe. When I tried to explain to them what had really happened, and that I wasn’t talking back to them, they just talked over me and continued to single me out in front of the other kids. I was thankful that my mom had pulled me out of that program after I had told her what had happened, but it still had a severe impact on me growing up and robbed me of my self esteem and my confidence to talk to others. In addition to that, coach Eric (I think he was the head coach from what I remember) was extremely rude and catty to other little kids around my age at the time. I can never understand why these people chose a job that involves working with little kids if they are just going to be scummy to them. If you see any positive reviews about this place just know that they do not know what they’re talking about. If anyone from Charter Oak happens to stumble upon this review, please let me know if either Coach Nick or Lexi still work there because I need to confront them and tell them about the mental scars they have inflicted upon me, and how they have affected me for the last 10 years well into my adulthood, because they are the reason I have had to also seek numerous psychologists and psychiatrists for the last 10 years. I am currently 21 years old and I need some sort of closure from this suffering. Thank you.

this place is absolutely lack of professionalism and honesty, from my experience this place only cares about the money .my daughter had quite an injury and definitely needs time off from gymnastics to heal so I called to pause the class , someone on the phone said we will get refund for the unused classes that she could not attend and will pause the class but she didn't.so after a week i called again to follow up why we did not get refund that was offered or her class get pause ,I was transferred to a different person who told me different story regarding refund, its very confusing. This women was so rude about it with bad attitude, telling me the other staff was giving false informations and she was very ? angry, she said this school have no refund policy unless I sent them dr.s notes to indicate that my daughter really had injury.(as if I was lying ) so i sent dr. notes straight from ( CHOC ER ), which indicate she broke her ankle , upon following up she said it's not acceptable. not acceptable?so doctors ER note with indication of fracture is not acceptable proof. what is?so i sent second medical document indicates physical/therapy on those specific dates we were absent ) this time I think they would have no excuse right?no! she completely changed the term again from refund to credit , she said this credit will be on the account and can be use for future classes when reenroll but no refund , alright credit is fine better than nothing right?I'm just glad all that run around can finally be over with a solution. right? right? nope!instead of putting 48$ credit owed into the account like she emailed she would, she deactivated my account making it impossible to use credit owed or even log in.this is kind of the moral this company operate .I can't believe I wasted so much times with their run around for 48$ so stupid of me! ugh 🤯as much as I hate wasting any more of my precious times writing this review, I believe everyone is entitled to express sincere accurate experience regarding the business ethics they dealt with.moral of the story ,the run around was an indication that the refund was not intended in the first place.there are other better places that is better to take your children to learn than wasting time with this . I don't recommend this place even if it's free. ethics matter! especially when children are involved. staff attitude matters.all other reviews about rude staff and money are very accurate.deactivate the account, making it impossible to use the credit owed... is another level of petty.this place deserved double 00 star from me . you can keep those credit owed . im not coming back for it no thank you!

Coach Jesse and Malia are the best. Unfortunately Coach Malia is no longer a coach which is a shame because every other coach in the little gym could care less. Not going to mention any names but we’re not happy and we’re looking for a new gym. The class sizes are too big making it impossible to correct students on proper form. They don’t pay attention to each kid. They’re not learning any new skills. I’m having to coach my daughter from the chairs. It’s disorganized and borderline unprofessional. This is a game to some but to my family, it’s serious. I’ve Had advanced coaches observe her from this organization say she’s at an intermediate level but she’s constantly being reduced to the skill of the weakest student in the class. My daughter is bored and frustrated that the coaches let other students screw around because there’s no discipline.

Hi all! I have twin girls that just turned 3 and I must agree with a previous poster that one of the receptionists (Dilly?) needs major improvement in the customer service arena. Seems like she has ZERO awareness of the programs, requirements, classes etc. There was a lot of "dead silence" on the line when I asked questions. My girls had a trial class and we decided to just start them fresh at the new start of sessions (Oct 10, 2016), thanks to the advice of teacher Stuart, which had the patience of a saint. I was VERY impressed at the gym and overall activities, which tapped into every relevant area of gymnastics. I know it will be tough for both my husband and I to squeeze in the "one to one" ratio required for the "monkeys", but we will make it work for the girls' benefit. I am a school psychologist and my twins were premies and one wears orthotics, while the other one seems like a natural, strong athlete; therefore, gymnastics seems a plus for both of them. I will keep you posted.... I gave 4 stars instead of 5 bc o feel the front office should have more information and enthusiasm.....

Quite frustrated with the receptionist at the front desk who lacks customer service skills. The make-up policy for kids that take Friday classes only permits Sat. Make up. So, if your child is sick or out of town make up is not allowed. My daughter was not able to make any of the classes she missed in tbe last two sessions. I do like the coach but truly wished the owner offered more flexibility. Families typically manage multiple kids who play multiple sports and such rigid policy makes it appear as if it is all about the money.

Why do people always have to bring up racism is still a mystery to me. To me, if I immigrate to another country, I want to speak the language, I want to know if they are talking about me (kidding) if you choose to live in a different country other then your native country, you should speak the language. I'm from the Netherlands and I made it a priority to speak English. What do you expect, that Americans who are born in this country have to learn your language? So next time I go there, I will have to tell them to speak Dutch? is that make sense. In fact, if you emigrate to the Netherlands, it's mandatory to learn the language, and so it should be.Now, customer service, is in my experience very knowledgeable, they are friendly, helpful; and respectful, that some of you have a attitude because you think something is not going your way is a whole different ballgame, and maybe you should back off a little, and think first before you judge. Customer service is a very difficult and demanding job, because you are dealing with people from all walks of life, and they all have a different perspective of what customer service should be in there little world. So far, my daughter loves charter oaks, and so do I, and so do many of my friends, and there kids go to charter oaks as well, I don't hear any complaints from them. The coaches are great, the whole atmosphere is great, there is nothing wrong with customer service, and most importantly, the kids learn a very difficult and challenging sport, but as long they have fun with it, then that is all what matters to me. If you think that charter oaks is that horrible, then go somewhere else, but my guess is that some of you will never be satisfied, and always have something to B.... about.Will.
