Everyone at the studio is super nice and inviting and the studio itself is modern and always really clean. Xtend is unlike most barre classes in that in incorporates cardio in every class to burn more calories and to get you sweating. I've left other barre classes without even breaking a sweat.. I promise that's not the case with Xtend Old Town.

I love the Xtend Barre classes. It has help me strengthen my body all over. It's a different way of exercise. My body feel great all over after just one class. The instructors are great. I'm sweating hard after each class. Barre is a way of life....

I love this studio! It's always so clean and welcoming, and the workout is always killer (in the best way!!). No two classes are exactly the same, but they are always fun, motivational, and leave me shaking for hours. I'd definitely recommend Xtend Barre to anyone in the Alexandria area!

As someone who does not like exercising or waking up early in general, I love Xtend Barre. The classes are challenging. I've only started going for maybe two months now, but all the classes are different. You'll never get bored or use to a routine. Also, all the instructors are friendly, energetic, and super nice. Everyone always try to make an effort to get to know you.

XBOT is a fantastic studio!Instructors make you feel welcome and comfortable in/outside of class. During class, they do all the moves with students, provide coaching on form + technique, and offer modifications, but are not pushy if you do not want assistance. The instructors never cease to remind students to go at their own pace + intensity and to take adjustments as necessary, emphasizing that each student knows what is challenging/safe for their body. With all this being said, classes are easy to follow for newbies to barre, but remain challenging/high quality nonetheless, making new students like myself feel strong + confident even amongst seasoned barre students. Additionally, each instructor has their own style and is constantly switching up their routines, making each class fresh and unique. The instructors are also very approachable, positive, + encouraging, and get to know each student, which is ultimately what has motivated me to keep returning to XBOT, since I am new to fitness classes in general and am insecure about working out in front of other people. More generally, all staff members are super kind, helpful, and transparent, contributing to the overall un-intimidating atmosphere of the studio. Also, this studio doesn’t have many barre snobs, which is highly encouraging for a youngster and newbie like myself. Finally, I’ve got to give a shoutout to Maggie Laughlin, whose instructor in training class was my first experience at XBOT. Her energy is refreshing and contagious! She made me feel so welcome, capable, and confident when I arrived for my first ever barre class and is always telling me I’m killin’ it, even though my form and technique aren’t perfect. She’s an absolute rockstar and everyone should flood into her classes! Seriously, every class I attend at XBOT is a result of having an amazing first barre experience with Maggie as my instructor.Good vibes coupled with an intense yet easy to follow workout…can’t beat that!*no previous barre experience necessary!

I absolutely love Xtend Barre in Old Town. Teachers are so good. You leave feeling energized and stronger every time. I'm addicted! I also love the adorable studio and its beautiful esthetic. I love Mary who teaches Barre Express over the lunch hour and I love Natalie who is so down to earth and absolutely gorgeous. Everyone seems so friendly and supportive. I also love that they have such nice workout gear for sale. Xtend makes you feel good and look good. I'm also impressed that every class is different which is so important so you keep your muscles guessing and it makes for a much more overall toned body. I need to get to 110 and I'm hoping Xtend's various teachers and classes can take me there. Thank you studio owner, Natalie, for making such a nice place for girls to gather and exercise their bodies and hearts out! xoxo

Let's be honest, there are a ton of Barre classes around the D.C. metro area. I haven't tried them all. What I will say: Xtend Barre has become one of my favorite workouts. It's more ballet focused than other studios, so don't be discouraged if your first few classes are a difficult. I can tell a difference in my body when I attend regularly.

I've been to a handful of classes at Xtend Barre old town and each one has been challenging and fun! The instructors are high energy and great at pushing you to do your best. They also are very knowledgeable and provide helpful modifications along the way, whether you want to take it easier or amp it up. The combo of Barre moves and cardio will kick your butt in the best way!

I am OBSESSED with these workouts! Don't get me a wrong, I am still a lover of a classic barre class, but Xtend Barre takes it to a whole new level by adding in spurts of cardio into all of the strength training + conditioning you would get in a traditional barre class, which I really love! The cherry on TOP is that they incorporate traditional ballet moves/positions into the workouts, which brings me back to my dancing days and makes me feel like a real life ballerina! They have a lot of different types of classes you can take, and all at various times throughout the day to fit your schedule. All of the teachers are super friendly, upbeat & motivating, but not in an in-your-face kind of way. Very welcoming environment to push yourself to whatever challenge your body is wanting/needing !
