I had recently moved to VA from the Chicago area and for months was not able to find what I'd been looking for in a work out routine. THIS was the place! It was very similar, although even better, than the ladies boot camp that I had been used to. Cardio, strength, functional, etc. And modified movements for those of us who cannot do every move. Great instructors! Thank you Maia for an excellent work out program!

I love, love, love this place! It is not just a gym, it is a family. When I walk in I always receive a warm welcome. I have joined other gyms/ workout centers and I never achieved results. That's because I did not have the support and motivation. Since joining The Worx, I have lost almost 10 lbs and I am in my best shape. I would highly recommend this place to all fitness levels!

I am so happy to be apart of this community. Great work outs that challenge me every time I go, super time efficient for a very busy mama, knowledgeable coaches and super lovely people. Try it for a free week - you won't regret it!

I saw an ad on Facebook for the 6-week challenge at this gym. The ad mentioned a customized meal plan and that each person would have a trainer. Spoiler alert: the challenge ended up being complete false advertising and a waste of money. I signed up and met with Maia, the owner of the gym, who gave me a presentation about the challenge. She said the meal plan is based on my macros and there is a detailed recipe guide to follow. There was an “accountability deposit” of $600 and if you lost “either 25lbs or 6% body fat” as listed on the sheet then you could either get the money back or put it towards a membership if you decided to join. She made the threshold of 25lbs for 6% body fat sound very doable. I signed up and got my boyfriend to sign up as well. We were given our kickoff date of April 28th.We confirmed the date with the owner a few times and she said the 28th. When we received the email with further details, the email mentioned it was the 27th. I texted the owner to confirm the date yet again and she said it’s the 27th—but she literally told us 3 times it was the 28th. It was all down here from there. At our challenge kickoff, we were given our “meal plans.” I was given a meal plan that consisted of entirely too much food and was confused as to why we were not figuring out our macros. I asked for help because my meal plan seemed way too much and was told I was given the wrong meal plan and that this one was for a 300lb man.The challenge ended up being completely different than advertised. We were not given a trainer; we were given a “coach” which was just someone who has done the challenge. There were conflicting responses on which food, especially vegetables, could be eaten. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the challenge with the owner and it was one of the most maddening conversations I have ever had. I expressed that the meal plan was not based off my macros, especially since my boyfriend, who is 50lbs more than me, and I were on the same plan. She swore it was based on our macros and even argued that strawberries and rice are the same because they’re both carbs. She was incredibly defensive and not receptive to anything I had to say and did not even try to remedy anything I had to say. I had a laundry list of items that I felt really disappointed out and honestly felt duped by this challenge. If I were a business owner, I would have offered some of my money back, as we spent a very high amount of money for not much in return. The only thing redeeming about this challenge were the workouts—we did love them and it did get us back on the right track to losing weight. I did not make the 25lb threshold (we were told we could choose between pound loss or body fat percentage lost but we found out after we joined the body scan would choose for us) and have to take the financial hit. Just beware before you sign up for this challenge.

I was not motivated to exercise and joining huge gyms was not helping me. Joining the worx by maia is a dream for me because I am surrounded with strong trainers and fellow worx out partners who motivates me at every single workout. The classes are always fun and fresh because the workouts are different every time. During my recent six weeks challenge, I gained discipline, learned to count my calories and eat better, and most importantly, I learned to push myself into attaining a healthier lifestyle. I lost over 16 pounds during the challenge and my goal is to continue this new lifestyle in a welcoming environment. The worx by maia is an A+ gym and a wonderful community that is judgement free and does not focus on the scale but that at the end of each worxout "you do you." Thank you so much for building such an incredible community that inspires me and others to be healthy.

I started at TheWorx by Maia as a 6-week challenger in the January 2019. With the challenge you are not just given the access to the facility, but also a team of accountability partners, accountability coaches, a meal plan to follow, and a community like no other. The workouts are great and offer a lot of variety and flexibility based on time of day as well as the style of working out. Some days are based around weightlifting and strength training, whereas others are more tailored to metabolic conditioning. TheWorx is definitely a community that is both welcoming and appropriate for beginners and those who are more advanced. The coaches help scale your workouts to something that works for you. The biggest things TheWorx wants with the workouts is for you to show up, work hard, keep moving, and Do You! If you can do all those things, you'll love the works as much as everyone else in the community.By the 6-week challenge, I was able to lose 13.6lbs and 6.7% overall body fat! It was amazing to see that I was able to change my body in such as positive way and get stronger too. The journey to good health wasn't easy, but with the support of the community and tools provided by TheWorx by Maia I was able to achieve and exceed my goal. I highly recommend you sign up today!
