Instruction is comprehensive and well-structured, but I think Cosmic sets itself apart through its supportive atmosphere. Coach Joseph is very patient and understanding of each student's needs, and I have nothing but praise for how he runs his gym.

My wife and I were looking for somewhere to drop in and train while we were in the area, and we're really glad we choose Cosmic. We were made very welcome from the get go, the teaching was exceptional, and it was followed by good, hard (but friendly) rolls. Joseph made sure we had a great time, and went out of his way to help us drilling (even though he had students competing at the weekend). He was kind enough to roll with us, and destroyed us with gentle precision. I had a chat and a laugh with everyone I rolled with, and they all had a great attitude, happy to discuss techniques and what worked and what didn't.We've dropped in to many schools while travelling over the years and Cosmic is amongst the best experiences we've had. Highly recommended to anyone in the area looking for a community and a hard workout.One more thing: their sprung mat is exceptional and I'd love to do some serious stand up on it sometime. Just the right combination of firmness and bounce, and much better than most of the gyms we're used to in the UK (even most Judo dojos!). Their facilities are excellent and whoever spent time putting it together did a great job.

This academy has really awesome culture of inclusion, teamwork and safety! I have a great time training here especially after a long day of work and school; it’s relaxing to empty to empty my mind and just focus on movements. Professor Joseph is amazing and he really make you feel like you are part of a family. Come train here and be part of the family too!!

The atmosphere in the gym is very encouraging and uplifting, whether you're there to exercise or socialize, it's a good time. It's on the second floor with an amazing view at sunrise and sunset.10/10 training here will help ensure you shed pounds!

Since the move in 2020, the facilities are even better - larger mat space, separate and spacious changing rooms, bathrooms, and everything is new and cleaned regularly. The Sunday open mat is, as my coach called it, “Disneyland for black belts.” Coach Joseph makes an intentional effort to create a safe and welcoming culture, especially for women and children. I’ve referred my friends here several times.

I'm a total beginner, have only trained here for a month. Coach Joseph is super kind and inviting. He's patient, knowledgeable, and great at breaking down concepts/moves in detail. The people at the gym are friendly and are all very willing to help you learn and train. This is a great gym to train at!

Without a doubt the most welcoming school I've ever been to. Joe and his students have a phenomenal reputation with being the 626's largest jiu jitsu school to currently train at. Not to mention their Sunday Open Mats are probably the most popular in the 626. If you have kids or just want to train yourself. Highly recommended. Great for sport and art. Be ready to work, these guys don't play!

I've been training here for years. Really enjoy the classes and the coaching staff. Instruction aside the gym culture is inviting and collaborative. Everyone helps each other to develop their game.

Been to several gyms around the area and Cosmic is top notch. It’s a huge space that can accommodate a lot of people. You get a lot of different sparring partners. The people there are really friendly. Coach Joseph has a wealth of knowledge. He stays up-to-date with modern moves so you always know what’s working. He is also there to support those who compete and attend tournaments. This is a great place to train. Highly recommended.
