I would have just liked a little more introduction to what we were going to do in the session, but that could have been my groups fault, too! It was AMAZING! If I lived close, I'd start classes ASAP! But will be looking in my area. Life changing experience. ❤

About a month ago, I had my first lesson at AUM Yoga, and unfortunately, my experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. During my visit, I couldn't help but notice instances where I felt that I was treated differently based on my race. The staff's behavior towards me felt cold and dismissive, unlike how they interacted with other participants. It seemed as though they were less attentive and willing to offer guidance or support.Despite there being only four people in the class, there was a distinct lack of guidance provided to me as a beginner. I felt lost and unsure of how to properly execute the poses, and there was no effort made by the instructor to address my needs or provide assistance. Moreover, when I approached the yoga teacher to inquire about the level of difficulty for the class, her response was far from friendly. She responded with a dismissive and degrading attitude, suggesting that I double-check the online website for such basic information. It left me feeling very unwelcomed. What added to my disappointment was the fact that, among all the classes offered, only one class on Sundays is designated as suitable for beginners. This implies that the studio lacks a comprehensive range of beginner-friendly classes. As someone new to yoga, I expected a more inclusive and accommodating environment. To make matters worse, I had purchased an unlimited first month membership, but due to this negative experience, I only attended the studio once. The lack of value and support made it difficult for me to continue and fully benefit from my membership.I believe it is crucial for AUM yoga to reevaluate their approach to beginners and customer service. I hope my feedback serves as an opportunity for AUM Yoga to reflect on their practices and make the necessary changes to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.

I've taken their yoga classes and let me tell you!!!!! I use to hate yoga, but it's so fun and challenging now. I've really enjoyed all of the instructors and the calming atmosphere.

This place has genuinely become my 2nd home. I’m going on 2 years of practicing here and I’ll keep coming back. I started with Vinyasa 1 and now religiously go to Vinyasa 3. Jess’s classes are always a good sweat. VinYin with Chelsea is my favorite for winding down because it’s the perfect combo of flow and stretch. Overall, my favorite thing is I always know what to expect, but never stop learning. Despite being a competitive dancer growing up, I feel stronger and more flexible now than I did then.

Love this studio! Great range of classes for all skill levels. I've been coming for over 6 months now almost every day. I love Jessie's Vin 3, especially if you want an extra challenge.

Probably my favorite yoga studio I’ve been to in the area. This studio is fun, welcoming, and a great workout! Classes can range from easy to super sweaty, and I always feel great after I leave. Love this place!

I have recently tried yoga and have enjoyed taking classes at Aum Yoga. While being a beginner, I feel included while practicing yoga as everyone has different skill experience with yoga. Overall the staff and community is friendly and supportive as you are able to practice yoga while also being challenged and practice different yoga techniques and poses!

I have done both yoga and pole classes at this studio. I like that yoga classes are a good balance of challenging yet still approachable. My only complaint is that the temperature can range from pretty chilly to really hot so I recommend wearing layers to adjust.

Out of all the yoga studios I have tried in Ann Arbor, AUM is by far my favorite. The environment is safe and peaceful and the instructors are easy to follow. They create such a calm atmosphere (but definitely give you a work out)! The flexibility (virtual or in-person) and diverse schedule makes it very accommodating for students as well! I also love the natural lighting and location of the studio.

I took a long break from yoga and was nervous to get back into it, especially in a studio setting, but I have had nothing but positive experiences since starting back up at aUM. The environment is incredibly positive, the instructors are talented, and there is a wide range of classes offered. I definitely recommend, even if you’re out of practice or completely new, this is a great place!
