I've been a patron of AYC for several years now. Their yoga is hands down the best in Asheville. I love Amy, Michael and Joe -- each for different reasons. But all in all they offer fantastic classes infused with great movement, music and mindfulness.

Fantastic instructors, and I LOVE that you are providing live streaming classes during this crazy time. I don't live near Asheville, but I did my YTT there, and this gives me the opportunity to take classes from some of my favorite instructors. Thanks!!

AYC offers a wide variety of classes at convenient times for everyone. I live a slight distance from AYC, but I prefer this studio bc they make themselves available for everyone. They offer all levels of yoga that work for the brand new newbies (like me) to the advanced yogi, as well as teacher training. So AYC is an excellent space to grow your practice and experiment with different types of yoga.

I am currently taking The Art of Teaching Yoga with Joe Taft and ~40 amazing participants. Thus far I have learned many practical applications as well as creative ways to infuse some fun into teaching (fun for teacher and students). The group is so positive and supportive and this is likely not only related to these amazing people but also to Joe’s way of holding space.

This studio's reputation exceeds far past the Blue Ridge of NC. For over six years, I love making my treks north from Atlanta to complete my Advance Yoga Training certification. While all of my experiences have been wonderful; there was one workshop I will treasure most."The Moon Path Workshop" with Sierra Hollister felt like a serendipitous gift from the gods. She came as a skilled wisdom keeper to hold us in a communal embrace of love while simultaneously clearing, cleansing and centering us as a tribe of women.I left my final workshop with more strength and a keener sense-of-self to navigate my journey ahead, masterfully.AYC aways delivers!Thank you for an amazing Advance YTT experience. With Love & Gratitude,The YogaChk of YogaOnTheMove

The instructors are at the top of their field. Their level of knowledge and their ability to redeliver their content is phenomenal. I have truly enjoyed each of my Advanced Studies workshops.

In order of importance:1) Best teachers I've found in Asheville - thoughtful sequencing and confident guides2) Refreshing atmosphere - architecture, natural light, lots of vegetation. It's the opposite of sterile but it still feels uncluttered3) location - love walking to the coffee shop nearby

Ruth was great and I got a lot out of my early Sun morning yoga session. I loved the intentions she set with us/for us and the lovely flow of the whole class. I will definitely be back when I am in town. So sorry I don’t live closer!!

Everything! The education that goes along with the asanas. The incredible teachers. The warm loving staff and atmosphere. The other participants! The always clean studio. The convenience of having showers. The variety of classes you have and at all times during the day. What I’m trying to say is... I’m obsessed with this studio. Thank you for your commitment to furthering the awakening of our planet. It’s totally obvious and very much appreciated.

Now I'm just actually curious..... has no one ever taken a class with Michael Johnson or does Asheville Yoga studio delete negative reviews? This was my third time to Asheville Yoga studio. I thought it was a nice facility and the classes had been decent thus far. Today was an exception. I left horrified!!! I have been to many yoga classes and I have NEVER experienced something like this in my life. It's my understanding and I believe a standard across the board that yoga invites people into a non-judgmental space to relax and restore your body. I left feeling more stressed than I did when I came in! The instructor was rude, judgmental, and honestly insulting. He was cursing and using profanity, and just across the board saying things that I believe do not align with the common custom and practice of yoga. After reading his bio, apparently he is the lead instructor and teacher trainer of this studio!! I thought about contacting the studio but now I have made the decision to never return to this place ever again if this is their concept of what great yoga is! I have to believe I am not the only person who shares this belief. Let's find out! Save yourself Asheville. A place like this does not deserve your business.
