I attended the Roots of Yoga class at the Asheville Yoga Center. This class was taught by Michael Johnson. Michael was very knowledgeable and made the subject matter interesting and easy to understand. The facility is very clean, plenty of props, and great finds in the boutique.

This studio is beautiful, clean, and the teachers are professional. They offer such a great variety of styles and the schedule is very full, so you can go at a lot of times throughout the week. I really love the Bhakti Flow or Devotional Flow class.

This was one of my most favorite workshops I've done since I received my RYT. Shala is an INCREDIBLE teacher and I felt that everything she taught was open to all levels in a tangible way that wasn't overwhelming. Her teaching technique included repetition in various ways of different concepts which I was very thankful for as I am a hands on learner. I had a fabulous weekend and can't wait to come back to take more amazing workshops! The boutique was unreal as well:)

I’ve only been to two of the classes both taught by Tucker Shelton and they were wonderful. The Yin class was great in helping me reconnect and be mindful of my body and to be in the moment with myself. While the Kaiut class was nothing like anything I’ve taken before but in a good way. It was not the most comfortable but I could see how over time it would be better and I like the idea behind it, of waking up stagnant energy that we don’t realize is happening. I am very thankful for the local promo of 30 days for $30, because I have recently moved here and have been wanting to try classes but wasn’t ready to commit to a full membership. I highly recommend this studio and will definitely continue to go here.

The teachers are so knowledgeable and are able to instill new motivation in their students. They care so much, they’re open and honest, and you can tell that they love what they do. Every teacher that I’ve been led by had impacted me in some way, and it’s wonderful to know that you’re going to have an incredible experience regardless of which class you’re in.

I recently joined this yoga studio and I absolutely love it! All of the instructors are amazing! I love how they come around and suggest modifications based on my body as well as help with trickier positions. The space is very beautiful and calm. It is a real treat to come and practice yoga in this space.

We were visiting Asheville and decided to try a class before our drive home. We took a restorative/yin class with Paige. She was incredible. The class was so relaxing and her voice so soothing. Wish we lived closer so that we could come again!

The one star is for service. I don’t usually give bad reviews but I honestly felt no effort whatsoever on their part. I travelled 3 and 1/2 hours earlier this year, 2019, from Atlanta (each way) to visit the studio because I heard rave reviews about one of their instructors. I purchased the 6 for $36. I took 2 classes. Today I decided to come back to use a couple more passes but found out when I tried to sign up for them that there was no passes available, and no ability to see what I had previously purchased. I called their office at 7am and explained the situation, and that I was in the car driving from Atlanta as well. The guy said he’d get back to me. When I arrived 3 hours later at the studio the same guy said he didn’t even bother to ask management (and never called me back) because they would have disregarded the request in the first place. If any effort had been made, better communication, or any acknowledgement of the time and effort I took to come and participate at their studio, I wouldn’t have cared. You guys have not only lost my service in the future but I definitely won’t be recommending you. I ended up purchasing another class at full price, just so I could see this instructor one more time. I would have definitely attended more, though, if they had offered any sort of discount for the miscommunication and trouble.Update: Monday (5/6/19) the response said management would contact me same day. seven days and going, I’ve received no emails or calls.

As a new resident to Asheville, I'm so happy to have found AYC so quickly. The space & teachers are incredibly welcoming. I love the peaceful, contemplative & strong class offerings. I'm excited to be a part of such a lovely community. <3

My friend and I traveled to Asheville since neither of us have ever been here. We’re both yoga teachers so we of course wanted to take some classes together. We are so happy to have stumbled upon Joe Taft. Words cannot adequately express how his classes influenced us both as students, teachers, and humans in general. Mindful, informative, challenging, inspiring, this guy truly embodies the essence of this practice and I will absolutely make a point to travel back to be at some of his workshops and trainings in the future. If you’re local, do yourself a favor and be in his class!!!
