I can't say enough great things about the Megalodon family and the gym's great quality of instruction and affordability. Everyone is friendly, kind, and we train hard! Some of the best people I've ever met, truly a home away from home.

Somewhat biased, I've trained with Casey since 2005. Three of my boys have trained at Megalodon, laying down a foundation for a successful high school wrestling career. Megladon proudly sponsors the Oconee County High Scool Wrestling program. There has always been an eclectic mix of students in both the BJJ and Muy Thai classes. Students from UGA cycle through, there are local professionals and a good size kids class. Megalodon is not a franchize, or an affiliate but an old school Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muy Thai club. No one is concerned with a new student or visitor's prior academy affiliation, belt color or style. All have been welcomed to train and share what they know. A number of students have come and gone, or stayed, and had a huge impact on Megalodon, allowing us to grow and evolve to what Megalodon is today. This speaks volumes for Casey's character as a life long learner and our gym's atmosphere. It is also rare for the gym owner (at our age) to still compete, which Casey does successfully.

I started going to Megalodon about a year and a half ago, and it’s been the highlight of my day ever since. The coaches are great and pay attention to all students equally. The community around the gym is more like a family where everyone looks out and supports each other. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate everyone for all the times they’ve checked in on me during competitions and the hours we spent rolling outside of class to improve one another. I wouldn’t trade my time at Megalodon for anything and I will always cherish it and all the people I met there.

Great place to workout at if you are wanting to get into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Every instructor is at least a brown belt and they give you one on one instruction as needed. Great place for beginners or folks who have years of experience. There is also a huge law enforcement discount.

Very high quality teaching and a fantastic training environment across the board- One of the best gyms in the southeast and easily the best the Athens area has to offer. If you want to start bjj or thai and grow, this is your place. There is something for everyone here, whether you are brand new or well seasoned and looking for hard rolls. Incredibly welcoming crew of folks to anyone/everyone and there's a reason the best in the area call this gym home.Instructors are fantastic (I can't put enough emphasis on this, these folks are what you want in a coach,) and will go out of their way for their students to make sure they excel and develop. Every coach has an extensive competition background and the majority of members compete as well so you know you are getting the best instruction and training possible. TONS of mat space and clean facilities. Instruction and technique is outstanding- you will receive the best training from the barebones fundamentals all the way to advanced modern bjj. The gym also has an outstanding kids program that is perfect if you are wanting to get your kid into grappling.I personally train all around and this is by far my favorite gym and call it home for many reasons. No culty rules, no drama, none of the problems you hear about with corporate gyms, just incredibly high quality training and a welcoming environment.This is what you want in a gym! Get out there and train!

My son has been attending this gym for several years in their kids bjj class. I’m impressed with the knowledge and skill my son has gained in this time. I am equally impressed that while promoting excellence in this competitive and physical sport, they have also created an atmosphere where kids feel accepted and supported by their coaches and peers. I highly recommend this gym for any family with interest.

These instructors are the last of their kind. These guys know True Traditional Technique and will only show you the Right way to do it.I have traveled over an hour drive one way just to train with these guys and if I could train 7 days a week with them, I would.
