Outside the equipment the staff are not that friendly. The gym badly needs maintenance; buckets for a leaking roof, dirty bathrooms and hot atmosphere.

Terrible customer service! The front desk ladies (Natalie & Kaitlyn, to be exact) are lazy, entitled, and flat out disrespectful! My Husband (a member of 7years) works outs faithfully at the gym.. No issue ever, until today! My husband left his key card at home (activate account, now) because the front desk ladies had to manually check him in "It's a problem?"The level of disrespect that was given was so uncalled for, all because he left his key card at home and the STAFF members had to actually do their job and check him in? No where in our contract does it state " In order to workout we must have our key card at all times!" How dare you tell my Husband " You have one more time to leave your card", Yes, I called and Spazzed out on them! How dare you disrespect a paying customer in that TONE OR MANNER?" Who raised y'all? When I asked "They" stated its a new policy .... "WELLL SHOW ME WHERE THIS NEW POLICY WAS BROADCAST AT?! In fact, I don't even care about that damn policy, you don't treat ppl that way, especially customers that haven't missed a payment on their account!" Managment, kindly waiting on a response.

I’ve been going to this gym for a few years. I was a member when it was called Omni, but cancelled my membership after a year because it was too expensive. After about a year, Crunch opened, so I joined it because it was cheaper and people hadn’t really caught on to it yet. Well, tons of people left Athens Health and Fitness to go to Crunch, so the crowd was now unbearable. So I left Crunch to go back to Athens Health and Fitness because AHF had now lowered the monthly rate to be competitive with Crunch. That lost in revenue, while trying to maintain the amenities is what I think contributed to what many guests complain about. Since rejoining AHF, the service and quality of the experience has declined. The gym has GREAT equipment and a ton of options (I would actually rate the equipment 4.5 out of 5), but the cleanliness and maintenance of the overall facility brings my overall rating down to 2 out of 5. The men’s locker room is blazing in the warmer months, the showers have been being retiled for almost a year and a half, and the staff fails to perform basic actions to make the place presentable for guests. I often work out in the morning when the gym first opens. On numerous occasions I’ve walked into the locker room and it appears it hasn’t been cleaned since 8am the day before. The staff opening or closing the facility should pick up any trash or towels laying around. I’m sure maintaining the facility is expensive, but a lot of the things people complain about can be addressed from simple ongoing upkeep. Please get all six showed operational in the men’s locker room. There’s constantly a wait in the mornings when there is a rush of guys trying to get ready for the day. It’s also tragic that the steam room is no longer working. That’s one of the things that made this gym stand out. Overall, I do think this gym could be the best in Athens, but the staff don’t treat it like it is.

Many machines are broken, and stay broken. I know locker rooms should smell, but these you can smell from some of the machines on the floor. The bathrooms always looked like they were never cleaned.

Pros: A lot of different equipment/machines to use. Large gym, feel as though if a certain machine isn't available that I'm looking for, there is always another in my circuit open. The front desk people seem friendly enough for a gym considering the limited interactions. I've seen fellow members help provide advice to others who seem to be starting out to help them maximize their workout. Large cushioned area for stretching and abs workout a super cool feature that I wish more gyms had. The hours are fantastic. They are always open early and tend to open late enough for me to get a quick workout in even if I'm working late at workCons: Cleanliness and maintenance. A few of the machines seem to be in need of repair and are missing the grips on the handlebars, ensuring you get this sticky gunk all over your hands if used. Others seem to be missing an entire part of the machine, which, according to the machine's diagram, is part of the machine to help maximize your workout. I can not speak for the women's locker room, but the men's locker room is also in need of repair. While it is cool to have a few cushy chairs, pool tables, and TV in there, they all seem incredibly worn down. Other things such as emergency exit lights or tiling seem to be falling apart, and I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed to help keep up the image of this gym. The lack of cleanliness standard here I also feel provokes members to not always clean up after themselves when using a machine. While I believe they have a steam room, they have been closed in both locker rooms due to "continued problems," which is clearly posted on the entrance to the locker rooms.Neutral: While there is a wide variety of members here, I do believe it's skewed more heavily to college students. People's outfits here can be quite....interesting. I have seen multiple individuals wearing jeans (which just makes me think of IASIP). Like every gym, you might also encounter individuals sucking up time on machines while they mess around on their phones, a very minor annoyance and slight entertainment. They also have a multitude of both male and female trainers (in case you feel more comfortable with one gender) and a meal plan to help you with your fitness goals; though I cannot speak anymore about either since I don't utilize those services. In summary, I don't feel they deserve 4 stars; while at the same time, I feel they deserve better than 3. If possible, I would rate them a 3.5, but since that isn't possible on google, I'm rounding up to a four. If they maintained their slightly equipment better (mainly by ensuring the grips were present and in good shape) and had a cleaner appearance (especially in the locker room), I would rate them a solid 4 possibly higher. I recommend at least taking a look at this gym if you are considering signing up for a membership.

The gym is great it has multiples of each machine, and the staff is friendly. The biggest issue the gym faces is cleanliness. There’s been two buckets collecting water from the roof few a few months now. The treadmill area usually has candy wrappers and empty water bottles on the machines. I hardly ever see people wipe the machines down after use and leave them covered in sweat. There are paper towels, disinfectant spray, and antibacterial wipes available to use but most people ignore them. I had a friend get a staph infection from a different gym because of that problem, so I clean each machine before and after use. There should be more of an attempt to get everyone to clean up after themselves.Other than cleanliness, it’s a great place to workout. There’s lots of exercise options for everyone to choose from so anyone should be able to have a quality workout.

Dirty facility. Many machines badly in need of repair. I was a member here when they operated under a different name. The same machines are still in operation, and they are gross. Exposed wires on certain machines, and peeling instruction labels on others. It doesn't show that they care about the upkeep of their machines. Tried cancelling membership, and they made it a nightmare to do so. It is going to cost you to cancel. They lied and said I never asked to cancel, but I did. They then added fees to my account before i could cancel. BEWARE!Side Note: I don't have my last name posted for a reason. You cancelled my account already.

The only somewhat okay thing about this gym is the woman's only area. unfortunately, all the woman's area equipment is old and not so great but at least it can be considered a safe place. I have a problem with this gym because of the fact of all their fees and lack of care for the customer. My card was apparently compromised and for some reason autopay was not going through. I heard about this two months after. I brought this up to a manager and he or she sent a screenshot where it states they tried to email and text me multiple times.... I never received any of these alerts. I don't like to assume a business is blatantly lying to me. I checked all my spams in all the emails I have and I even looked at my phone records. I have nothing in regards to this. I refuse to go back and forth with someone because that is not who I am and it is not fair to someone to have to hear that. I will be canceling my membership and paying the $188 ( btw only 40 of that is two months of membership) and never working with this business again.
