I have been a massage therapist in Athens since 1995, and I am picky about pilates. When Pure Balance opened I was so excited because the owner has been trained and seems to deeply value the true rehabilitation and transformative nature of what Joseph Pilates intended when he designed the reformer and the exercises that make up Pilates movements.I went at first and then I stopped going for over a year and I tried a class again this week and all I can say is: they attention to details about form, the positive atmosphere, it may feel hard to walk in to your first class, you may wonder if you will be able to do the class or that even if you can do it if you will feel comfortable and all I can say is GO here - everyone is welcome! Every instructor has the same class culture, they are there to help you feel great inside and out.THANK YOUPure Balance Pilates!

I love everything about Pure Balance. The instructors are all so very knowledgeable and helpful. The class size is small, in a non stressful environment. It’s like you have a personal trainer each class. They emphasize correct form, and are always watching each of us as we are working out. The instructor is mindful of our individual strengths and weaknesses, and continue to support our individual goals. It’s all about attaining, improving, on our own strengths, our sense of balance ,both physical and mental, and definitely a confidence booster. There are self improvement and health based, (mental and physical ) topics offered, for small group support, and discussion , I highly recommend Pure Balance. Try a class… it’s awesome.

After a debilitating accident a number of years ago a physician friend recommended I try Pilates reformer to see if it would help with the chronic pain I was experiencing. In the first few weeks of taking reformer classes I was feeling better than I had in years. My back, hip and pelvic floor pain went from almost unbearable to very little pain in a few short weeks of regular classes. I've been an avid Pilates Reformer fan ever since and know it's something I'll do for life.Over the ensuing years, I've had the opportunity to visit many studios across the country and experience many Pilates instructors and I can say Pure Balance is a real gem in Athens! The studio is warm and welcoming, the instructors are well trained with an eye to detail and alignment and the energy of the space is very positive. We all have 'different things' we are looking for when searching for a studio. The top three things that are important to me are: the quality of instructors and ambience of the studio, the noise (music volume and quality of music) and lighting. When I take a class I want to focus on my breath and movement staying 'tuned into' my body so I prefer soft music (not loud or blaring) or even silence. I've enjoyed the music offered by PB teachers! Another factor for me is lighting. Since you're lying on your back on the reformer most of the time looking up, the lighting above can be which overstimulating, bright and even blinding. PB has offset scones and dimmers on lights that make all the difference. I know these things may seem minor to some, but they are important to me.I love this 'attention' to detail that Ali, the owner, put into the Pure Balance. She and her teachers are well trained and offer a great variety in all of their classes. As a teacher it's easy to go on "auto pilot" and not put planning or effort into preparing to teach a class. I've never felt this from any of the teachers at PB.So if you're looking for a great pilates studio in Athens, I recommend Pure Balance!

My husband and I started Pilates about four months ago at Pure Balance. Both of us were novices to Pilates. Thanks to the wonderful instructors at Pure Balance we have both felt comfortable and feel stronger and more fit. Classes are never larger than seven people, which allows instructors to keep an eye on everyone and make corrections to form when needed. I was interested in improving core strength and overall balance; my husband was interested in strength and flexibility. We both feel that we have gained from our experience at Pure Balance!

Ali was so attentive, friendly, and knowledgable. If you're new to pilates, she does an excellent job of breaking down the movements and making you feel comfortable in the studio. If you're a pro, she knows exactly how to challenge you. I leave class feeling strong but lean. I love that Athens finally has a pilates studio!

Pure Balance is an awesome pilates studio in Athens and a great asset to the fitness community! The instructors are all highly trained and give great individualized instruction. It has been a game changer for me as I have recovered from surgery and worked on rebuilding strength in my hip!
