Gym is pretty good, big problem is that they keep the gym temp at 63 degrees which makes working out in there sometimes difficult. Almost everyone I talk to in the gym complains about it but it’s never changed.

It's nice but things always breaks and it's hard to get them up and running again. Example, the jacuzzi and the steam room have been out of commission for over 5 months. It's also pretty expensive for what you get when things continue to break down.

Nice gym with friendly people. When it was Gold's Gym it was open 24/7 including the weekends. What happened to that? I would like to see that come back.

went on vacation over the holidays to come back to a different gym. hours aren't the same. what gym closes this early on the weekends? equipment that has been broken in the women's area since i joined (a year ago) still isn't replaced. New paint on the walls, same old equipment. left this facility for something else.2

I never agreed to have an account with this place but continue to get past due notices. I have asked for 2 months now for it to be canceled from where I get the emails and their direct cancelation on the website, I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE. And continue to be harnessed for payment for something. I did not sign up for. And now they’ve sent it to collections. Watch out.

Amazing. Max Fitness has made many significant improvements to the gym. Friendly staff, clean environment, and quality equipment make this gym a fantastic choice.

While it might not be the best gym ever, it sure is the best one in Aiken. No other gym even comes close. If you’ve come strictly for weightlifting, then look nowhere else. It has great isolated hammer strength machines (and other brands of course), two squat racks, two smith machines, a power cage/rack with a platform for deadlifting/Oly lifting, a platform *specifically* for deadlifting and Oly lifting (with colored bumper plates, a hack squat machine, around four bench press racks, and around 7 or so adj. benches. Dumbbells go up to around 150lbs.And that’s just the main area. There is an area up stairs you could also use with four power cages and (the best bars are there btw 😉) bumper plates. Although this area is sometimes used for clases so I only use it on packed days. Then of course there’s a pool, a turf line in the main gym, two locker rooms for each gender, and more than enough cardio machines for everyone. Oh and a women only area. All this for a reasonable

The Gold's Gym that was there before it blows it away. It just has a different vibe and the hours are nowhere near as good. The staff is still really nice and most are from the previous gym. It might be a nice facility if I was say in my 70's...

We're new to Max Fitness. An AWESOME place for a workout! Great atmosphere and clean facilities. Im looking forward to the steam room being fixed but great other amenities available and included with membership.

There have been recent cosmetic and facility improvements. The staff is nice and the gym is clean. There are a few exercise machines that need a little maintenance, but probably a typical problem for any busy gym. A wrench and a little lubricant would easily fix most of the issues. I would like to see staff or management use or test the equipment occasionally so they are more aware of mechanical issues. Most equipment works well. Pool and hot tub are clean and working well now. Overall it's a good gym, especially for a small town like Aiken.
