Love, love CrossFit Central. I am 66 years young, and I thank CrossFit. I have been a member since 2009. I did take a reprieve in 2013 but realized that I needed the extreme support and motivation provided by all the coaches at Central. Their support goes beyond the gym, approaching each of their members on a personal basis empowering them to reach their full potential safely. Highly recommend for all ages and levels!

Unfortunately we had a bit of a bad experience here. I got excited when I saw Hyrox on the schedule and after doing CrossFit for a few years and hearing about Hyrox, we’ve really been wanting to try it out. When we got to the gym we had to flag someone down to ask them about the class and what we should do, and we were told there was no Hyrox that day but that they were doing a run though for the Deka Strong comp the next week. No “welcome”, no questions of if we knew what that was, no “I’m sorry” the schedule wasn’t updated or how we could be accommodated or anything. We weren’t asked if we have done CrossFit or Hyrox or deka, no one introduced themselves (not even the coach), no one asked our names, nothing. The bathrooms were pretty gross (smelled like the urinal and pad had literally never been cleaned) and looked like they were out of the movie Saw, and there wasn’t any cleaner to be found for used equipment after the class, and the medicine ball room odor was apparent of that fact too. The coach told everyone to hop on a machine to warm up, which lasted a couple of minutes and then 0 other warmup was done whatsoever. This is far from the experience we have at our CrossFit gym: everyone is greeted, introduced and thoroughly welcomed into the gym in a variety of ways, and the facility is clean and well maintained. We do a 5-20 min warmup depending on the day/movement class. There was one member who was helpful and answered some of my questions when prepping for the class, but the coach was almost annoyed by our presence and no one else even acknowledged us. This is the type of gym that gives CrossFit a bad name: unwelcoming, no proper warmup or prep for class, dirty and gross. It was such a bummer dropping in here when we were visiting Austin!
