The place can use some simple housekeeping and customer service help. It doesn't take much to wipe down the front glass doors to keep them clean or have the front desk girls greet you with a smile. I go only for the evening classes however the few times I went just to work out I seem to have disrupted "break time". The gal at the front desk actually had to get off the stool she was sitting on and help with a billing question. The Times I've been there for classes my car was broken intoI reported it to the front desk to see if a random "walk around" the parking was too much to ask but apparently it was. I was told many cars had been broken into prior and that there was nothing they could do about it. I guess sitting on a stool looking bored is more important than keepimg an eye out or wiping down a glass door. I'm looking for a gum with more sense.

Like alot of other reviewers, the gym has it's pluses and minuses. Pluses: close, relatively inexpensive, not alot of sales hype, almost empty Friday to Sunday. Minuses: disinterested staff. Some users dominate equipment and don't understand the concept of sharing. Have gotten the stink eye from 'users' sitting on equipment catching up on social media for extended periods.*I put much of the responsibility on the slack attitude of the staff/management.*

For an in-depth "loner" gym-goer's review of both gym and attendants:A lot of people seem to go to gyms for social recreation and expect the workers to want to talk to them about their own lives. I go to gyms to get stronger, and that is what this gym provides. Weights, machines, cardio equipment, and it even has 2 squatting stations (not including the Smith machine). Music on, and I can go in and work out without being bothered much besides the occasional promotion. Lockers are provided, and you can even bring your own lock for free usage. Heck, I can even deadlift without dealing with someone or something (alarms) telling me it's not allowed.I'm actually a very small guy (5'4" and 108lbs on a good day), and everyone here seems to be fit, so that can be a little imposing due to the amount of people who frequent this gym. Sometimes you'll catch people staring, especially if you're doing something they didn't believe you could do. A lot of the "tougher" guys hang around the rowing and lat pull-down section, so sometimes those take a very long time to become available. There are also usually people in the "legs" section (main squat rack, leg presses, deadlifts), and those are limited (2 leg presses, 1 or 2 bars down for deadlifts, main squat rack. The other squat rack is towards the front, but people like to do pull-ups and curls there for some reason). I haven't seen a broken machine in my short time being there, but even so, it's doubtful that I would notice, as I use freeweights or bodyweight 95% of the time. There are plenty of treadmills, stationary bikes, and (if I recall) ellipticals for the cardio junkies. Now, they do have a contract, which kind of sucks, but most of these types of gyms do. I forgot the yearly fee, but the monthly fee for me is $25.99 (limited to only this gym, whereas it is ~$29.99 for all Body Xchange gyms in the area). My only complaints that can actually be resolved are that there is only one water fountain for the main gym, there aren't wipes or cleaning sprays conveniently everywhere, and everything feels clumped together. Every gym has those people who won't rerack weights, or who hog 4 different ones, or think they're the biggest and baddest person in the gym.Overall, this isn't a "no-nonsense" type of gym. Yes, plenty of people go here to get fit, but oftentimes they will be socializing or taking things too slowly to really maximize their time. I'm sure you can easily grab a spot with the amount of people (I'm more of a recluse, so I've not had to ask), and maybe even find a buddy. However, if you are trying to get fit yourself, whether being a beginner or intermediate, then this gym will work out for you. It isn't the greatest for those who dislike crowds or social interaction, but if you can deal with that, it's still an option.

Clean and well-run. Main point of this review: the front dest worker (Robin) during the weekends is polite and quick (doesn't ignore and have excessive personal conversations). He was kind, when he didn't have to be: I was short for the towel fee, he was kind and let it slide. Great service and great experience!

My experience with this place is horrible. i went to apply for membership and signed an open contract, the day I signed the contract I discovered my credit card information was stolen and I couldn't pay the startup fee. That same day due to the circumstances I canceled the contract at the front desk. I told them to cancel, I was never given a contact termination notice form. Around a month later I see a startup fee authorized from my bank from body xchange, I go back to the location and talk to the manager and he doesn't seem to care one bit, he took my info and still hasn't called me back. BBB will be getting involved.

I am a member and the gym is always full. The staff is more worried about what's on their phones then with the client. There six tread mills that have been broken for at least two months now. I pay 30.00 a month and an annual 37.00 fee for equipment repair. And it seems like every time I come in there's something else broken. The reason I pay the 30.00 is because I can go to all of locations. I drive 12 miles to a small gym where I'm greeted Evey time I walk through the door. I gave the two stars because I like the small gym on Allen and stockdale.

Thank God I'm month to month!! I've been going to this gym since the end of May due to relocation. I absolutely hate it! There's equipment that has been broken since I started attending this gym that has still not been fixed. I went in there 2 days ago and about 12- 15 machines are broken!! Mind you, this is a small very crowed gym at all times of the day! So to have that many machines broken... it's absurd!! All the equipment has this nasty sweat film on it! None of the machines adjust in ways for shorter people so I end up hurting my knees on some of the leg machines. They do adjust in the seat but that's about it. The workers... haha workers yeah if that what you want to call them. They are siting at their's desk on their phone. They don't seem like you can go to them and ask for help they stay in their little bubble. Very unhappy. Will be going back to my home gym as soon as I can.
