It is a great program to learn self defense and how to protect people around them

My child has learned so much more than taekwando. Self confidence, self esteem, along with the taekwando.

Update after almost 1 year! Zoe has come so far in her practice in the last year. She is more confident and responsible because of the skills she as learned. The Coffrins and their staff continue to WOW us as parents and challenge Zoe to be her best self!My kiddo began training at Coffrin's about 6 months ago. From the very start it has been such a positive experience for both her as the student and us as parents. Some things we love:1. They are so organized. From the onboarding process, to class structure, to testing, students and parents know what to expect.2. Facilities are super clean and in great overall condition.3. The people are amazing. Every interaction with staff and instructors is positive. This even applies to the way they encourage students to make improvements when working on a particular thing in class. It's always a positive comment and then they add the opportunity for making it just that little bit better.4. It's fun! Kids don't want to feel like they are in just another school class. There are competitions, events, etc.5. There is a focus on goals and character. There is a word of the cycle (like self esteem, respect, honesty, etc) and they talk about what this means and how it impacts their training and their every day life.Overall I have seen such a change in my kiddo since starting. She has always been awesome! But I have seen increased determination and perseverance. She has been more keen to set goals and break them down to achieve them. And she has grown in her independence.

My son has been a part of Coffrin’s ATA for just over a year, and the growth he has shown is remarkable. In addition to the physical conditioning and training associated with Taekwondo, he is learning leadership, responsibility, self-respect, loyalty, courtesy and accountability, all central messages of the organization. Master and Mrs. Coffrin, Mr. Baker and the rest of the staff are perfect role models for the students and teach with genuine compassion for all. I know we’ll be a part of the ATA family for a long time!

The instructors are absolutely wonderful with the kids. We started our kiddo after trial and she has taken highly to all of the teachings they have to offer. They teach kids to learn self control while learning self defense, and focus heavily on respect to self and others. I would highly recommend Coffrin’s ATA, as the kids have fun and the instructors make it worth their while.

Can not say enough great things about Coffrin’s ATA. Such a great place with amazing instructors and staff. We have been there for five years and never had a bad experience. They make it a point to build confidence without sacrificing lessons in personal responsibility. I probably could name all the great instructors they boys have had over the years…. But I have never had one single time where I questioned what they were doing. Master and Mrs Coffrin are amazing people who are passionate about what they do and it clearly shows!

We came to Coffrin’s ATA Martial Arts in August 2021, just days after the new school year began. Our daughter was attending another after school program and it became clear very early on that it was not a good fit for her or our family. She is an extremely energetic and determined little girl, and needs direction to channel her spiritedness. Our current program was both unable and unwilling to do what was needed. What’s more, they had labeled her a “problem,” only exacerbating the issues we were seeing.Enter Coffrin’s and the Bloomington’s BEST After School & Summer Camp program. Thankfully there was an opening at her school and she started attending within days. The changes we have seen have been so gratifying; while we have not been without hiccups, it is clear that the coaches and instructors here are both well-equipped and willing to help our girl grow and thrive. They are empowering, encouraging, patient, and firm – all things you need to handle a strong-willed child and help them prosper. In short, they CARE!We quickly added evening classes, which she not only enjoys, but also values and excels. We look forward to each and every rank graduation she earns and I’m forever thankful to everyone at Coffrin’s Martial Arts and Bloomington’s BEST After School and Summer Camp for all they have poured into our daughter - and our family!
