Love the Rec. Always clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. Equipment is easy to access and theres always enough for you to use. Much nicer than some gyms I've been to.

The Boise State Rec is an amazing place. Super clean. Great staff. Wonderful sauna. Spacious. If you're a student at Boise State, don't miss out on this great amenity! (You'll probably miss it later.)

The work out equipment is outdated, and there is not enough weights to meet the needs of the amount of people who go there to work out. The basketball court and pool are nice, the gym aspect is why I’ve given it such a low review.

This rec center does not behave like a normal gym, despite charging money to the students for their services. They will charge you for a day pass if you do not bring an ID card with you. They have changed their hours to include closing …

Tried going today just to be told I have to pay a fee to use the facility because I'm not taking 6+ summer credits. $6 for day use or $55, unless you're not affiliated in which case it's $99. Disregard the fact that I am paying $10,000 each year to BSU for tuition, parking, class fees, and all the services I don't even have the pleasure of using such as the rec since I take 16-17 credits/semester -- as if an engineering student has time to drop studying or being in class to go use it. The equipment is old and not safe, the few opportunities I got to use it during the Fall/Spring semesters I got sick every time because they don't clean the equipment. I didn't even hesitate leaving when they told me I'd have to pay a fee to use it. I would rather go pay for a real gym membership where the equipment is maintained and professionals are on-staff. My employer has a brand new facility they reimburse the membership for anyway. Go figure, the place that I'm paying tens of thousands of dollars to wants to charge me an outrageous price to use their gym where the corporation paying me wants to give me a free membership to their gym. Not surprising, since BSU doesn't give a damn about their students health. Flu shots are expensive, too, and they "don't have the budget" to fill their hand sanitation dispensers -- yet they just increased tuition the max 5% allowed last year. Where is that extra $500 going? I haven't seen any academic improvements -- plus the gym membership FOR STUDENTS is $55 while work study funds pay for the staff working there.

Mostly here for swimming. Great pool quality and clear visibility without smell. Neat locker room and shower equipment. Good programs of kids swimming lessons. Friendly staff, too.

Great selection of equipment, well stocked weight room. The snobby gym rat dudes can be a little off putting in the weight room, and I've been advised more than once that I should lift lighter with more reps cuz I'm a lady, but after giving them a good glare and doing my thing they back off. They aren't mean or rude, just presumptuous.I prefer to go late at night so I don't have to wait for barbells and such, but even during peak hours I've been able to find something else to do.Staff is always friendly, and generally people have a good vibe.

The place is clean and offers many services from a working out classes such as yoga to HIT. There are outdoor activities offered. They have a fair amount of equipment, a pool with life guards, a rock wall, basketball courts, and racket ball …

Plenty of cardio equipment as well as a 1/11 mile indoor track. Lots of free weights and three basketball courts. Overall it's not usually too crowded here, but weights and basketball courts sometimes get too full. The pool has plenty of lanes and the racquetball courts are almost always available.
