Since, Crunch took over the gym I have seen a slow but steady decline in quality. The lapse during the height of the COVID epidemic was clearly understandable, but the quality has only continued to decline. Below are some the issues I observed that have led me to leave Crunch:*The gym is not clean—the workout area is often not clean; you'll see the same dust bunnies and dust/dirt piles in the same places for weeks.*The locker rooms are in need of serious restoration and upkeep—many locker doors are broken and deteriorating, mold and mildew is present, and they are generally not clean.*The bathrooms are often not clean and I have experienced multiple occasions where there is no toilet paper and/or paper towels.*The roof leaks and during/after rain storms the workout area is equipped with buckets to catch rain leaking through the roof.*Often there are no towels available and a couple of times, I was provided a towel that was so worn and torn that it looked like a shop towel from my garage.*The hot tub has been in constant disrepair for months/years—it often is unclean, the water is only luke warm, the jets won't work, or it just isn't open. Several times in the past year of two, I went to the gym specifically to enjoy the hot tub after a skiing workout, only to find that it was either closed or not working properly.*Along those lines, the hot tub was also the source of a recent Legionnaires' disease breakout: Idaho Statesman, July 23, 2023.*Some of the staff are very friendly, but some of the front desk staff are so aloof and unengaged, that they act like your needs are an interruption to their texting or conversations with the other staff.*Twice in the past 3 months, I arrived at the gym at 5:15 a.m. (gym opens at 4:30 a.m.) only to find it was not open (and these were not holidays).*Much of the equipment needs to be maintained/repaired, most of the Swiss balls are often not fully inflated, and equipment is not put away in an orderly manner—even though I usually work out early in the morning, I regularly have to go hunting for various pieces of equipment because they are scattered all over the gym.

Umm. Love the gym. And the sauna. But. And I say this having worked out at lots of gyms.….perhaps the least hygienic men’s locker room (note: in its entirety) that I’ve ever seen.Love the Crunch brand. But this location needs a kick in the pants.(Still gonna be a member. Love the no drama atmosphere.)

I have visited all the Crunch Fitness locations in Southern Idaho, and worked out at all them multiple times. Out of all of the locations, Crunch Fitness Boise State Street is my favorite. Reason being, this location has the best layout. It is isn't crowded like some of the other locations, its wide and open and I love the big windows upstairs that let in the natural light. Great selection of equipment as well with deadlifting platforms. Love it!

The place has upgrade drastically in the last several months. Fitness equipment is finally put away, the cleanliness of the bathrooms is finally getting better, the management is way better than it used to be, and they finally have consistency with trainers. What a breath of fresh air.

I called them to try and find the owner to a set of keys I found at work. Unfortunately, the key fob wasn't linked up to a customer. But the girl on the phone was super friendly!

This gym is an awesome bang for your buck. The staff is all super chill, and I always feel like there is plenty of space to workout, even during peak hours. There is also more than enough parking, which has never been an issue. I would say the bathrooms could be a cleaner, but for $30 a month, you honestly cant go wrong. People leaving negative reviews have no idea how underrated this place is.

First of all, the staff is leaving positive reviews. Secondly, the front desk is highly inattentive. When asked to check you in they have behaved as though you’re interrupting their phone time. The gym is always dirty and you usually have to clean the tanning beds yourself. Switching locations was a joke and I was physically confronted and yelled at by a staff member for trying to “sneak by”Management and staff should behave as though they are in customer service. Google won’t let me leave photos on my review of the dirty gym and tanning beds.

About a year ago I couldn't imagine coming back to this place, due to the staff behind the front desk, as well as the general manager at the time, however upon hearing about an entire staff change, I decided to give it another go and I am really happy I did! Super clean and the staff is super helpful. The overall atmosphere of this gym is super chill. Much much better than Axiom, plus they are not requiring you to wear masks while working out!
