One Boulder Fitness is the best ! Unlike the huge gyms in Boulder, you get personal service and many at the front desk greet me by name. The gym has all the right equipment for me and I like the free Yoga classes included in my membership. I recommend One Boulder Fitness.

Update: I'm amending my original comment, and increasing my rating. After a few months more of going to the gym, it would seem that the gym has gotten used to the group workout dynamic. There haven't been any more complains that we've been made aware of and though we typically try to request the owners time requests, we do occasionally go during the lunch hour. There haven't been any negative comments on the times that we have. Also the majority of the staff are great, trainers making sure to be considerate, and desk staff helpful learning the routine of their clients, to have towels ready etc. Much improved. Original Post:I would strongly recommend against this gym. While their equipment is decent, the service leaves much to be desired. My company was working out as a group (anywhere from 3-5) employees on a regular basis. Like most people we choose to use the gym during our lunch hour, due to various company meetings etc. We worked out as a group in a circuit, using free weights and the occasional machine. All of us were polite and used proper gym etiquette and used up less space than the same number of people workout separately would have. After a few weeks of working out, the manager of the gym apparently received a few complains about our groups size, from other gym members. His solution to this was to ask us to not workout during the lunch hour and in small groups of only 2-3 people, while paying the full price for the gym. In other words he wanted us to pay full price for our gym membership while receiving sub-par service and equipment use. He continued to press the issue and finally gave the ultimatum that if we worked out during peak hours, he would cancel our contact.Bottom line: We, like all other members who pay the same price, have a right to workout when and how much we want, while being polite and obeying gym etiquette. The owner of this gym gave into pressure from other clients, to restrict our hours while still expecting us to pay full price. One other item work considering is that while 3-5 employees went on a regular basis, we as a company paid for 10 employees. So, the financial decision of Boulder One to give us poor service and restricted hours, was very poor business.

Pro: This is the cleanest fitness club I have ever been to. And I have been to pretty much all of them in Boulder. You can't beat the location, especially with a free access to the parking garage for members.I mostly go to OBF for classes and love it because groups are really small. I have yet attended a class with more than 7 people in the room. If you are flexible with your schedule and can attend classes during the down time you might end up being the only student in the class, which to me equals personal training. All the stuff and instructors are friendly, experienced and attentive. If you like meditative yoga try the 4 pm Sunday Yin yoga with Suzanne. Her classes are themed so always different. She is very knowledgeable way beyond the subject of fitness yoga and shares the information with us during the class.Con: I wish they were open later, especially on the weekends.

My experience at One Boulder has been great! I especially enjoy the number of yoga classes that are offered. Without exception, all of the teachers are amazing. I also appreciate the fact that the workout area and the yoga classes are never overcrowded. The equipment is always available for me to do the workout I want to do so I can be efficient with my time. I would highly recommend this gym!

What an awful gym. I can't believe the positive reviews are real and not generated by employees. The only reason I considered joining was that I work downtown. The gym has no classes, is very dark without natural sunlight, tiny, and somehow elitist. I passed.

One Boulder is a great gym in central Boulder and I have nothing but compliments for the staff and facility. I'm not a gym rat and prefer to work out in the hills/trails around Boulder, but One Boulder has been awesome for lifting, indoor cardio and simply getting clean.

I think this is a great Boulder gym. I was a member at OBF for years before prematurely canceling my membership during some changes at the gym and moving to CAC, which I despised. The attitude in OBF is friendly and helpful, equipment is well maintained and clean.Yoga classes are included and frequent to accommodate everyone's schedule.Small group training classes are great for anyone whether you're in great shape and wanting to add something new to your regimen or trying to get in shape for the first time!Karie Kerner is a wonderful trainer, and by far the most educated and passionate trainer I have ever had. It's a treat to train with her.OBF does have a smaller cardio room than CAC, for instance, but there aren't kids and Tweens bogarting machines. I have never had an issue getting a machine I wanted within ten minutes (at the most) wait time.2 hrs validated parking is great and the location is awesome. Reasonable price point also.Overall, if you're looking for a welcoming, clean gym without pretension, OBF is the way to go.

I'm a huge fan of "the One" and always look forward to my almost-daily visits to it. I feel like a kid who anticipates recess at school when I get to hit the gym and appreciate both the cleanliness and diversity of the equipment and, especially, the friendly atmosphere of the members and staff. The downtown location is superb for getting in a good workout and you can also use it as a great starting and finishing point for a run, hike or ride. And, for those who take advantage of it, the yoga classes are top-notch and included as part of the membership. I highly recommend OBF and am grateful that the "no attitude fitness" that was the credo of the old Pulse transferred to this gym.

If awesome were a rating option, that would be my rating for One Boulder Fitness. I've been a member there for several years and wouldn't be happy anywhere else. The equipment and facilities are very well-kept, everything is clean and the staff is a terrific bunch of people - the whole atmosphere and vibe is very supportive of people at all levels of fitness. And it runs the gamut from elite athlete types to older women like me who didn't start out in the best of shape, but thanks to the training and encouragement I get at OBF, I've made some great progress. The small group functional fitness classes with Troy and Glen absolutely rock. You work hard in that class, but you have fun and you get results. Check it out!
