I wanted to cancel my monthly recurring membership with them. I messaged them through their website chat messenger, but they never responded. I ended up losing my debit card, cancelled the card, and soon began receiving multiple borderline harassing emails that they could not process the payment and that my account would be frozen and a penalty would be need to be paid to reactivate my account. At that point, I was under the impression my account was closed. I eventually received a new debit card, but The Spot continued trying to charge my old debit card, and Visa eventually pushed the charge through onto my new debit card. I was given no notice from The Spot that my card had been charged and that my account was reactivated. I had been paying for the past 2 months without any type of notice, and I thought my account had been frozen. My friend also had a poor experience trying to close his account. This company has poor business pratices

I work at a climbing gym over in Burlington, VT, and I feel like a lot of gyms I go to outside of Vermont have kinda inconsistent grading. Some V5s feel like V2s and vice-versa. The spot kills it with all of their boulders. The grades feel right in line with what they’re marked as, and there’s a really cool variety of climbs there! Also the back wall with all of the natural features is super rad, I’ll definitely be recommending this gym to all of the climbing homies!

This is almost a historic place and rightfully so -- people here are chill but some are strong AF, and staff is very friendly, setting is nice. It's unusual to have the classic taped holds setting, so might take some more effort to read problems and follow the right holds. After my visit, I do think it is a bit overhyped, though. It's evident that the gym is rather old by today's standards. I did not find the hold selection to be very modern, there are almost no volumes. I also couldn't find any telescoping brushes to clean the (very dirty) holds. While the setting is good, I did not find it much better compared to other gyms I've been to.

Visited while on travel, and this gym is officially tied in first place for the most fun climbing gym I've ever been to. Every route, regardless of whether or not I knew I was going to flash it, was an absolute blast. The walls and holds were suitably clean (the fastest way to lose stars in a review!), and the pseud-realistic texture of the walls is a unique touch. As a whole, the gym itself is an excellent bang for your buck. In particular the discounted day passes on Fridays. Should I find myself in the area again, I will absolutely be returning.

This climbing gym is not a good climbing gym. It was 25 dollars for a day pass which in my opinion is a little pricey for the quality of the gym. The holds do not seem to be cleaned in between resets the staff is friendly but overall one of the most underwhelming gyms I’ve been to.

This is an amazing place to come and boulder. The place is huge and complete with nice restroom facilities and a place to store your gear. And then the walls - they have everything from lower walls, to a cave, and a massive wall that is downright scary to drop from. The route setting is well done with unique holds and appropriate ratings.

My favorite climbing gym in the world. Amazing route setting and even better people. Love the old school taped routes and high density of boulders. Can’t say enough good things about the spot!

Amazing gym. The walls and features are so unique and pretty. You’ll find every hold you can think of in this gym. The setting here is some of the best you’ll find. Every Boulder in this gym has so much thought put into them which guarantees fun for all levels of climbers. Their music is also always on point, every song is the perfect send music. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to be back!
