I give this gym high marks for the friendliness and expertise of the staff. Chris, the trainer, is a warehouse of athletic and nutritional knowledge and knows exactly how to push me to reach beyond my goals:)Bibi, who cleans, is a one-woman powerhouse! I have never seen the bathrooms cleaner:) She truly enjoys her job, too, singing as mops!!I always look forward to going to the gym, now:)

Terrible customer service and they’re calling themselves a “premier club”. I’ve been a member here for a couple years there is literally nothing premier about this club. It’s small, over crowded, has shower rod curtains for doors in the two changing rooms, and you see people “cleaning” but will see the same dirty wrappers in cardio machines for weeks.I have the second tier membership which I thought allowed guests at my home gym, as I have brought guests before. Today my nephew was in town and I wanted to take him but I was told “my guest privileges are only for express clubs” that I have literally never been to and again to call Elmwood anything other than an express is a joke. I’ve brought a guest maybe 3 times prior to this so I guess it’s possible others just let me bring in people. Not today, they wanted to charge a 14 year old kid who wanted to try the gym for the fist time $20 or literally double my monthly fee so I could always bring a guest. Like he used the situation as an up sale opportunity in front of my nephew who was getting upset. He’s a kid.I was willing to deal with waiting for machines, no amenities, and cleaning equipment before I use it for the price but after how I was treated today with my nephew, I’ll be joining somewhere else.

My husband goes here, and he absolutely loves it. He has a personal trainer there 4 days a week and looks forward to it every time. They are expanding more, which is awesome to see.I used to go here too and it was a really nice facility with a great staff. I'm just more of an at-home-workout kind of person.

Great Gym! Clean, well equipped. Staff and other patrons are friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff, convenient location, plenty of equipment. Owners have foresight to expand based on volume of clientele.I see gyms as places for self improvement and advocacy. They offer a place for us to better our body, mind, and social skills. They’re a good cross section of society and you’ll meet friendly and unpleasant individuals alike. If you need something, broker a conversation beginning with kindness. Someone takes your equipment? Ask a question - they may not know they did. Most people will let you work in with them between sets - within reason. Consider that the gym and clientele may need improvement, but so may we.I worked previously as a trainer, in retail, and in healthcare. I’m a believer in taking responsibility for myself. Ask how we can change, less how others can. You dollar cost average into markets for retirement, Catalyst is a solid local business to “health cost average” into yourself. Thanks to those who keep this health Mecca afloat! Props to Chris and Mark for being great personalities within their team!

When I called to cancel my membership, she told me I had to go online and send them a message saying I waned to cancel or come in in person.I didn't even have the option to cancel online, I hade to send a message to them informing them I wanted to cancel and wait for their reply. When asked if she could do it for me right there, she said no. Terrible customer service on a regular basis at the desk by the young employees on the weekends.

Joined this location because other than LA Fitness it is the only gym that is in the downtown area. Still takes 20 minutes to get there and the gym is ALWAYS crazy busy (I have tried many different times throughout the day/week). The membership is too high for the size of the facility so you’re always fighting for equipment or you’re stuck on the treadmill just waiting for something to free up, so you’re there even longer than you should be if it weren’t so crowded all the time. Don’t waste your time or money until they either expand or reduce membership.

I joined here six months ago on the advice of my fitness coach. I’m pleased with the facilities and the equipment, both of which are well-maintained. The staff are friendly and engaging and many of the other regular members are likewise, allowing you to “work in” on a machine between their work sets (I’ve also made some new friends this way 😊)That said, the membership feels oversold against this location’s size. It could use two more bar cages, three more benches, two more cable machines and maybe 30% more mid-weight dumbbells. So I’m conscious that, if I’m there past 5pm on weekdays, that I’ll need to wait for my turn on equipment or pivot to a replacement exercise to keep my momentum. There was also a period spanning several months where a group of about 20 boys from a well-known local private school would come in with their coaches, turning the whole facility into a pubescent Kidz Zone between 3 and 4:30pm 😒Taking those factors into account, I’m able to consistently get three, solid 90-120 minute workouts in every week, covering barbell, dumbbell, bench, machines and turf. I’m happy to be a member and am looking forward to experiencing the results of the expansion!
