Urbana Boulders is the best bouldering gym in Urbana. I have not found another bouldering gym that is so innovative, friendly, AND safe for everyone involved. Additionally, the staff is super helpful and will not hesitate to let you know how to be a better rock climber!

They've really done some major improvements, doubling the size. It's a bouldering facility with climbing rope, rings, pull-up bar, table tennis, and a workout area (medicine ball, weights, mats). Very nice. The price went slightly up, but makes sense with the doubling of the space.

Its way cool to have something like this in the area. Really great way to spend a few hours and boy what a workout. If you want to sweat but don't like the gym, this place is for you. If you want to have fun with a few friends and try your hand at something new. Its also for you. If you're an experienced climber and you want to practice some tricky bouldering routes, they got you covered. They also throw special events too so make sure to stop in and ask!

I've went to Urbana Boulders twice now. I'm in love! I went rock climbing at Upper Limits in Bloomington numerous times over the past few years but I am still very much a beginner. "Bouldering" is comparable in some ways but also different in others. In my opinion, you need more upper body strength and absolutely more bravery to boulder since you do not have a rope on you and could fall from quite a height! [Don't worry though, their floor is padded.] As a beginner, I think this is a great and fun activity for exercise. I like knowing as I advance and grow stronger, there are more difficult routes for me to boulder/go up. Plus they change them all the time so you're not left bored by routes you've already mastered! An amazing place with a super friendly and helpful team of associates. I highly recommend. :)

UB is an awesome gym! It has a good amount of variety, with very fun and different routes set. Prices are great - $10 for a day pass, $80 for 10-pass, and $2 for shoe rental if you need them. The staff are super friendly and you'll find them climbing there a lot too. They have their own rating system, with 6 colors of increasing difficulty, and the first two colors are said to be below a V0, so it's a very approachable place for complete beginners. That being said, the harder routes are HARD, and even if you have some experience, you'll be met with a challenge.Check it out, it's the only place like it around, so you might as well give it a shot!

A great place for a good workout. I came here one day because I drove to Bloomington and Upper Limits was closed. I've got quite a bit of experience top roping but not much bouldering. Its definitely a different animal all together and I'm glad I have a new place to climb. The Staff was friendly and the place was very clean.

Staff and owner are super friendly. Their walls aren't the highest, but they more than make up for it with some of the best and most interesting bouldering routes I've seen. They also have a wider range of difficulties, making this gym ideal for those new to bouldering as well as veterans. Prices are competitive on passes and gear isn't marked up like at other gyms. Highly recommend!
