I’ve had a long-standing client relationship with BSS at Clifton and JCC both have the same issues. Inconsistent instructors making the learning inconsistent, cancellations from the sites, poor instruction overall. They have skill sets per level they are supposed to teach your child but months, and years can go by before they actually test your child to move forward. Each time I’ve had to advocate for my child to move on. I’m not the only parent that had to do this. My frustration point hit when (and I watch and record my child’s sessions) there was a skill she WAS NOT TAUGHT and was told she couldn’t move on because she hadn’t mastered that skill. Not because she wasn’t ready but because she’s had a new teacher every few weeks. Her progress is being stunted because of their failure to teach my child properly. I’ve called and tried to solve this, I’ve written the chat on the app and I’ve gotten no response. We’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years for swim lessons for the entire family and have very little to show for it.There’s one teacher who was amazing with my youngest kid and helped her overcome her fear of water. She only gets 5 stars but overall as a franchise, I’m extremely frustrated and would not recommend. They have convenience in multiple locations but it’s the same weak model of instruction and poor business practices. You’d be better to hire a private instructor or a smaller, local swim school with proven results.

Christine is the best. The other instructors are great. But my son only works at his best with her.

I can only wonder where the 5 star reviews come from. This place gets worse by the day!! Instructors turnovers is insane. The success of the program is based on repetition, but that is hard to achieve without stability! We have been going to the school for almost 2 years and have had enough.

I like Clifton’s pool is bigger than other places we have been and that helps kids to spend more time swimming and learn faster.

My older daughter has been learning how to swim here for the last 2.5 years (she's 5.5 y.o.), younger just started (she's 3) and already making great progress. Highly recommended!

I have my two boys enrolled and they love it at BSS. The instructors made them both gain so much confidence and I really like the way they approach teaching each class. I love that if the boys miss a class they have so many available times/dates for a makeup class.

My son has been in this program since 7 years old, he just turned 3years old. I can definitely see all that he has learned. We recently went on a family vacation to Mexico where I witnessed all the skills he has acquired including rollovers, submersion, and his favorite big jumps. Only reason I dont give 5 stars is because i think the program stalls the kids for a long time. My son was in seahorse for a year and a half before he could move up because of age. I understand its all based on developmental skills but i belief my son often got bored and would goof around. However, overall great school with amazing staff.
