Kickaro's Martial Arts & Fitness - Danbury - Kids LOVE Karate

We signed our 4 year old son up 1 week ago & he LOVES it!! Mr. Michael is fantastic with the kids & really makes it a comfortable & welcoming atmosphere for all new families. I was worried about how my son would react to karate since he has not attended pre-school and has not had any experience in a setting with a teacher/classmates, but I teuly could not be happier. The amount he has grown in just one week is amazing, & he begs me to go back the next day to class!! I highly recommend Kickaro's Martial Arts & Fitness!!

Experience started out great. Michael is very good with the children, if not particularly communicative with the parents. Our daughter enjoyed her classes.Then I lost my job. This is not a cheap activity and that's fine, but when asked about the possibility of pausing the payments or having any flexibility with the schedule, we were told that they would happily pause the payments and our daughter could even keep coming. Great.Except then they kept charging us every month, when we didn't have money coming in. Thought the first one was a fluke and left it alone. Then tried to contact them after the next charge. Only response was a rude, angry voicemail saying that they had never said that they would pause payments and that we were contractually obligated to finish out the installments. Luckily the contract was up that month so we didn't have to deal with their terrible customer service any more.Martial arts is great for kids, but not at the price of an entire family's comfort. Maybe you should re evaluate how you deal with situations like this in the future.

My daughter started karate with Mr. Mike in pre-school as an after school activity. She was 3! I would bring her back to school to participate in this activity every Tuesday. I stayed and watched this man engage every single child, at every age! I was in complete amazement. He also knows each child's name on the first meeting with each child. I was watching my 3 year old completely engaged in every moment in this 30 minutes. At the end of the 8 week program, my daughter went right up to Mr. Mike and asked if she is allowed to come to his work to do karate; I was thinking to myself "eeks, here comes a life dis-appointment because most classes in comparison to this begin at age 4". Much to my surprise, Mr. Mike said "yes!". We went the very next day and signed up at Kickaros. The price point is unbelievable! It's unlimited karate in her age group, for one set price per month. My daughter is 5, goes 3-4 times per week and she is absolutely engaged each time and we are going on our 2nd year with Kickaros.Mr. Mike has an amazing gift with our children! He has so much experience with children: he's able to pair them up accordingly during classes, he groups them by ability and not age (after a certain belt), he focuses on correct posture, he tests these children in front of everyone, he's beyond polite and professional with the children, He doesn't loose his patience at all, and his business' main focus is on our children! My daughter is beyond confident, strong, capable, balanced emotionally and physically and she gets very upset if she misses a karate class! And it is solely because of Mr. Mike! He has my daughters best interest at stake. He is extremely polite to each parent, he hears everything you say to him and address' each situation as he sees will be best outcome your child. He is a master at his job! I'm beyond happy with kickaros classes. And, I believe that you can not put a $$ amount on your child's growth. Thank you Mr. Mike!!! I look forward to many years at Kickaros!!!Ps... we saved $ this time around with membership, because the staff made a suggestion for us in order to do so! Who does that these days? Kickaros!!!

I have known Michael for many years. He is wonderful, especially with children. It is easy to see that he loves teaching karate and how important respect and discipline are in all aspects of life. I highly recommend a class with him.

I recently had major surgery and when given clearance I decided to try kickboxing. I chose Kickaro's Martial Arts and Fitness after hearing many positive reviews. I was not disappointed. Mr. Michael is wonderful. His teaching instructions are top notch. Plus, since I was recuperating, I did not feel the pressure to participate at full capacity. Mr. Michael encourages you to go at your own pace!! I would definitely recommend Kickaro's for all your fitness needs!!!

My son Jacob has been taking classes with Mr. Michael for 10 months. In that time, Mr. Michael has had a great influence on him. Not only does Jacob get a great workout each day, but he gets his focus and attention "worked out" too! Karate class with Mr. Michael has helped Jacob learn what it means to be a part of a team, but also how to work on his own independent skills of respect and perseverance. All around, Mr. Michael's class has been great, in many ways, for my son.

Mr. Michael is an amazing instructor who exhibits patience and gets his students to remain focused and engaged. My son has shown tremendous growth and skill in just under one year of karate lessons. I am amazed and impressed with Mr.Michael and how he has worked with my son

Michael Kickaro's Martial Arts and Fitness in Danbury, CT is such a wonderful place for Kids and Adults. My daughter Shannon started with Mr. Michael at the Goddard School in 2011 and has been training with him ever since. She has come a very long way to where she is now, 2 belts away from her Black Belt. Her focus and hard work truly amazes me after all these years. I have Mr. Michael to thank for his dedication, patience, hard work and most of all his wonderful personality with all the kids. He always looks out for their well being & interests. If it weren't for him and his gift of being so awesome with the kids, Shannon would not know what she knows now and continue to want to learn with Mr. Michael. As a mom I am so happy that she knows how important it is for her to continuously learn this important way of life and with someone she absolutely adores and looks up to as a role model. I also have been taking the Adult Kickboxing for almost 5 years now, I absolutely love it!! It is such a great full body workout, a great stress relief and Mr. Michael also teaches us some self defense moves as well! What is better than that? Thank you Mr. Michael for such a wonderful school but most of all for your love of what you teach to both the kids and adults. Mr. Michael put's his heart and soul into teaching us what he loves and believes in. He is by far, one of a kind and always tries to help and work with his "Kickaro's Family" as much as he possibly can and is always a pleasure to deal with!!

Mr. Michael is an amazing teacher with the patience of a saint. He has a wonderful approach that works for every personality. He can bring a shy kid out of their shell or develop patience and discipline in an overactive child. He has helped my children develop confidence and self-esteem while teaching them skills and building endurance.

I am so impressed with the consistency of engagement and supportive instruction that Mike demonstrates in his classroom. My grandson has been a fortunate student of Mike's classes for many years and I have happily attended many of Jack's classes. Mike has special gifts that I see during his instruction. Teaching respect and humility and the importance of commitment are some of Mike's special talents that I have viewed class after class without exception Jack has so benefitted from Mike's gentle instruction and individualized attention that all of the students receive. The self confidence and skills that Mike passes on to his students are priceless.
