My favorite gym in El Paso!! I moved and had to cancel because it’s too long of a drive. I wish there was one in North East EP.

I have been part of other Gym establishments in the past and even though I would go and get my workout done, Suncity Athletics has been a game changer. The owners Shane and Lizzie are the best at what they do, each member gets a personal touch when it comes to diet, one on one training and even counseling (lol). I love that the environment is like going home , a place to de stress , a place to get your workout done surrounded by friends and family. It truly is a ONE of a kind Gym. I look forward to going to Suncity everyday even if it’s a 3 am lol.

These people know how great this is here! You can walk in and feel comfortable! Zero ego! You can hang with them! They will go out of their way to teach you how to use equipment!!! The owners are humble! They do a lot for the community!!! If there is any lack in timing in response is because they are running the whole show. Remember be kind to small business owners! God blesses them you can feel it here!

Equipment: The gym is well stocked with equipment and machines. Multiple flat/incline/decline benches, adjustable benches for dumbbells, a lane of turf for rope/sled pulling, outdoor area for squatting, a giant tire for flipping, treadmills, Stairmaster, ellipticals, smith machines, sissy squat, leg press, hack squat, reverse hack squat, squat power cage, wall racks, assisted pull-ups, cable machines, dumbbells from at least 5lbs to 100+, and more.Media/Entertainment: There are TVs everywhere playing mostly 90s/2000s bodybuilding videos and motivational montages. The gym plays mostly rap/hip-hop, and rarely some rock/metal/etc. Music is pretty loud but not crazy loud, which I like.Busyness: Even at its busiest, cardio machines are usually not ALL taken up, and you can manage to find yourself a spot on most machines pretty soon. It does seem pretty packed and borderline hectic when at its busiest. Parking is ok, it's rough dirt terrain and it fills up quite a bit when it's busyStaff: Staff is friendly, but I've never had to really speak with them on any issues/concerns so I don't know how well they react to that so I'd defer my judgment to other reviews. Not as professional as you might like, no uniforms, and the front desk isn't always occupied by a employee. Sometimes the staff/trainers kind of just blend in with the rest of the crowd. Most of them are pretty young, but they're always chill, and my sign-up process was really smooth.Members: There are a lot of strong people there, benching 315, squatting 405+ for reps, deadlifting 455+ for reps. I've asked a few people for a spot and they're always friendly and cooperative. Pretty much everyone there is there to lift, and lift seriously.$$$: Membership is $35/mo with a $50 cancellation fee before a year is up, you can add a membership to your plan for only +$10, and it acts as a completely separate membership, which is AWESOME. There are also other options as well.Amenities: Basic bathrooms with separate closed-door stalls for the men, a shower, water fountains, an "oxygen room" or whatever it is, basically like essential oil therapy, personal training, a smoothie/juice bar towards the front, and more.Cleanliness: I would give the bathroom cleanliness (at least the 3 or 4 times I've been in there) like a 3.5 maybe 4 out of 5. The overall gym cleanliness is like a 3/5. Not really that clean, but nothing sticks out to you like crazy being really dirty. Just simply OK.Bells and whistles: They have Fat Gripz, Mag Grips, among other cool attachments for the cables, and a belt squat, which is cool.My biggest gripe: THEY NEED MORE PLATES PLEASE. Easily, without fail, EVERY exercise I do, I am practically scavenging other areas of the gym for plates, specifically 10s/5s/2.5s. It's just... annoying, lol. No other gym have I had this problem, at least to this extent. Not the worst thing in the world, but still, IMO, should be considered for future planning.Miscellaneous: I've never met the owners, Shane and Lizzie, but my brother-in-law who goes, has. He says they're very friendly and open to conversation. They also come from a competitive bodybuilding background and are really jacked. They walk the walk, which is cool. From the looks of it, the gym supports the Police and Military, and the owners are Christian (I think), and have an open Bible at the front desk. They also buy new equipment for the gym every so often, which is only ever a good thing, and their Instagram, @suncityathleticclub, is constantly posting encouraging and supportive posts about their members and reposting member posts.I think for MOST people, this gym is a great bet. If you're serious about lifting, or if you're new and need some guidance and a supportive group, it seems like this gym is set up to help you succeed regardless what camp you're in.

I love this gym. It’s my 2nd home when I’m in El Paso. The owners really care about members and are always looking for ways to make the gym better. You definitely have to try it out for yourself!!

Sun City gym is the greatest gym in El Paso, I’ve tried many other gyms and instead of feeling motivated I feel discouraged but after I came to sun city and met the owners Shane and Lizzie they treated me so well they helped me get my life on track and reach health goals I never thought I would. The costumer service they provide is light years beyond any other gym. I recommend this gym 5 out of 5!!

Atmosphere of the place is nice and they have some very good (although very used) machines. The only things that I do not like is the how unorganized the plates and dumbells are, aswell as for how unlclean the gym is. They are basically everywhere and some dumbells are missing pairs. Other than that this gym is honestly great.
