The coaches are effective, friendly, and there is a very wide range of personality types and ages between students. I have met many friends, always feel welcome, and have grown as a fighter to a significant confidence. I would recommend Staley to anyone in Evanston that is looking for the highest quality martial arts experience as a beginner-intermediate student.

From the day I walked in I was accepted and everyone there treated me with respect and like a friend. The coaches have lots of experience and expertise and it was clear through their attitudes and actions that my success was their success.

I have been meaning to write a review for a little while now. My wife and I joined this gym a few months ago and we were instantly captivated by the intense workouts matched with the high level of technical training. The owner (Laurie) of the gym was present at our first class and she was warm and welcoming. The coaches (Darrin, Jim, and Arthur) have been high quality as they empower and equip each person training. They are ready to answer questions and they have even stayed a little after class to answer questions that arose from the class. During the end of each class we have a chance to roll with others, and I have experienced my rolling partners as respectful (even if they are a higher belt) and yet still competitive. It's a good environment to learn, be challenged, and have fun. Lastly, recently, we had a family emergency come up and when we contacted management (Hayley and Marcie) they were very kind and compassionate about our situation. We worked closely with them as they helped us navigate what it would mean for our membership. In the end, their policies allowed us some flexibility to continue as members. All in all, we are grateful for your gym!

I checked out Staley Martial Arts when my foot was broken and still in an air cast just to watch a few of the BJJ and Muay Thai classes. I felt the energy in the gym was very laid-back but not in a skills/performance way - more so in that it was very welcoming and open. Once my foot was finally healed up, I was able to attend Jiu-Jitsu classes on Wednesday mornings at 6 am and Saturdays at 9 am, and am so excited to get more into it and visit CGT Headquarters with some of the crew soon. Thanks for keeping the spirit of martial arts light-hearted, fun, and empowering.

I lost 20 lbs in my first month of going. I do mostly BJJ and have done a few Judo classes. All of my instructors have been fantastic. Classes are fun, energetic and safe. Gym is super clean. I signed my 5 year old up and he loves it.

My 11yr son is new to Martial Arts and has tried almost all the different classes at Staley and LOVES them. He wants to go more even though he already goes 4xs per week. The instructors do a great job with varying age groups and skill sets and are very good at keeping a kiddo that easily loses focus on track. So glad to have found Staley Martial Arts!

My son just started at Staley and has really been enjoying the classes. He has learned so much in a short time period. The instructor is excellent giving very clear directions and taking time to work with each participant on improving their techniques. The facility is really nice as well.
