Powerhouse Gym in Novi

The employee SAM is the absolute most rude, condescending and disrespectful person I’ve come across in my life. He’s a man on the outside but true woman in the inside. I will be uploading the audio of our exchange- where he continuously yelled in my face. I’m so upset because my kids and I love this gym but I am absolutely not going to a gym where I am not wanted and spoken to by a man that truly wants to be a woman at heart. I would not recommend this location to anyone who doesn’t want to be disrespected. On TWO different occasions I’ve had terrible experiences bringing guests that were included in my membership.Today, I tried to bring a 12y/o but wasn’t allowed. I asked Sam to make an exception, where he spoke to me soooo rudely. I told him I didn’t like how he spoke to me and he proceeded to yell in my face. I probably wouldn’t have been so upset if it was my first time experiencing a horrible encounter with an employee. The only reason why I still go to powerhouse is because of Steph’s strong class. Powerhouse- do better treating your loyal customers better and teach your employees how to talk to people. It’s not about policies. It’s about the way you speak to people.

Scammed out of $200. I signed up for their summer program which they advertised as being free just for their to be a 200 enrollment fee which I still debated paying and I was told I could enter my card info and had 10 days to decide to cancel or not and I decided to cancel because they don't offer nearly enough for that price. It's not 24/7, you can't bring a partner and I just have other alternatives that work better for me. They so far haven't honored my cancellation and took the money anyway and I can't get a hold of management.

STAY AWAY from this location! My high school son wanted to join and was clearly taken advantage of. He wanted to be month-to-month because he knew he would only be using it for a short time and was trying it out. They ended up signing him for a 6 month contract. After less than 2 months of use, he decided he wanted to cancel. He went in person to do that and was told that he could not cancel! I intervened and went to management. Laurie ended up applying even harsher consequenses. She assessed himan annual fee of $57 plus next month's fee, which she increased to $57 from $47, which Laurie justified in order to get him out of the contract. I later found out from Layla, the employee that signed him up, that there was a $39 membership fee option and student deals. Yet, she put him on $47 monthly fee. Watch out, they see a youngster with a Visa and try to hook em in. Laurie is a complete phony. She pretends to understanding, but offers no equitable resolution, as a customer service representative should.

Great group classes. Clean and well kept equipment. Friendly staff and friendly members! Also great freebies and local discounts!

For this area this gym is the best value for your money. Every time I visit for work this is the gym I use. If you are local or visiting I highly recommend this gym. The equipment is better than a hotel gym. The staff is far more considerate than any Lifetime I have ever been.

On the weekend the Gym Closes at 8pm. I get there at 7:28 for a quick 20 min workout and the front desk locks the doors and won't let me in. Is literally arguing with me in the doorway. Not letting me in. If they stop letting people in …

Been coming here for about 6 months love everything about it. The smoothie cafe is amazing and has really good food as well. The gym amenities are really nice I workout upstairs which is the women’s gym. Recommend this gym 100%
