Since joining Isla Jiu Jitsu back in June, I've honestly been having the best time. Every professor there knows their stuff, and it's clear they're all in to help us succeed.I really appreciate how they look out for us new white belts–instead of throwing us into sparring right away, they have us focus on drills. Safety first, right? And you know what's amazing? Seeing kids and teens getting into jiu jitsu too. It's inspiring to watch them learn and grow in the sport. The vibe at Isla is just top-notch. Everyone's super friendly, and it feels like one big family where everyone's got each other's back.Plus, there's this shared goal of getting just that little bit better each day. Thank you to the professors and the great people I train with here! If you're thinking about giving it a go, I'd say definitely jump in!Hardest part is just getting into the door. :)

I’m a transplant from out of state. I came to Washington with a few years of Jiu Jitsu experience as a white belt. Jeff and the entire academy welcomed me with open arms. The tech is solid. The upper belts are always willing to share knowledge. Everyone watches out for each other on the mat. I couldn’t be happier.

I'm 40 and have just about completed my first year here. It's been wonderful. In fact, it's been life changing. I've never felt such satisfaction from doing anything. Training in BJJ has filled a hole in my life that has given me a renewed sense of purpose. Although I came for the training, I am staying for the camaraderie. This group of professors and coaches really care about their students and the atmosphere is second to none. Made some new friends here and can't wait to continue growing as a martial artist and as a person.
