The Muay Thai class is taught by experienced professional fighters who do well with all experience levels. Easy and patient with beginners, but ready to brawl and put you on the mat if you come in too aggressively. I came in a little cocky and they made sure to humble me in my first couple sparring sessions😅 …

I decided to check out this gym because my friend lived in the area and I was interested in that area. I had the privilege of participating in both Muay Thai and Jiu-jitsu here. I've had a little experience with both of these before arts before and I can say this gym is extremely solid.I've recommended my friends in the area to check this gym out and if you are in the area and want to check it out I highly encourage you to do so. You'll not be disappointed!!

Great gym, super welcoming of newcomers. Coaches are very knowledgeable and down to earth. If I lived in Tacoma I'd go here.

I train here for the jiu-jitsu. I’m very picky with my gyms as social settings tend to give me anxiety. (It usually takes me 4-6 months before I’m able to join.) That said, this gym immediately made me feel comfortable with its very welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and accommodating, and the training environment is relaxed and very conducive to learning, whether you’re training to compete or as a hobby. Sparring feels very safe and you don’t feel like somebody is going to inadvertently hurt you (which is usually a concern for smaller people like me). There are training partners at every level, and the instruction is top-notch. Kyle is very knowledgeable, and doesn’t get caught-up with gym politics, encouraging everyone to cross-train. The mats are mopped every day after use, and the bathroom is very clean. Definitely one of the top gyms I’ve trained at.

Humble academy with a solid group of individuals of all skill levels. This is a welcoming environment for beginners and advanced individuals.Plus there isn't just jiu jitsu, but kick boxing as well. This is an MMA gym because there is diversity in what is taught.I really look forward to continuing to train here.

I trained here for 1 month. Fantastic jiu-jitsu environment for beginners or advanced students. Kyle, Nick and the rest of the instructors have created a welcoming atmosphere that fosters learning and growth for their students. Highly recommended!

This is a great martial arts academy. The gym is spacious which is not always easy to find for BJJ. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and have a great way about coaching. The Muay Thai program looks really good!I like that there are separate changing areas! This is definitely the place to be for martial arts in the fife / tacoma area.I didn’t know a lot about jiujitsu before finding out about this place. MABJJ Tacoma isn’t intimidating, the instructors are welcoming and give good instruction. Another selling point for me is that they have classes for all skill levels, from kids to beginners (fundamentals) to advanced (adults) so there’s a spot for everyone. I’m looking forward to attending a women’s self defense class in the future.

My kids and I starting going here five months ago. They do Muay Thai and I do Muay Thai and BJJ. The Muay Thai instructor, Master Saohin is the best at what he does ( he’s a champion fighter from Thailand) and has been such a great influence on my children. They love Muay Thai and being around Master Saohin, as do I. On the BJJ side it’s like a big family. The coaches in the fundamentals and advanced classes are amazing, they will help you step by step and spend time individually with the students to make sure they’re understanding the techniques. My teammates are always positive and helpful. Shawn, Kyle, Bladden and Jerry are the best coaches I’ve had. I can’t say enough good things about MABJJ Fife.

Excellent Academy. I recommend everyone check out at least 2-3 different gyms to get a feel for what you like and don’t like about the place. Signing up at a gym / martial arts academy is a big financial commitment but also your time and livelihood. That being said MABJJ fife has high quality instructors and great atmosphere. Full of all skill levels and body types which makes for great training.
