This gym and the people who run it have honestly changed my life. Always knew i wanted to try jujitsu but never got out and did it until i randomly decided to check this place out. I felt a little nervous my first day, but could really tell that Professor Lucas has an incredible heart and really knows what he’s doing. In talking to Thiago after the class, i knew for sure that i had found my family out here. I felt like I reconnected with my brothers or some people i’ve known my entire life. Every time i train, i feel like i come out a better person. After every conversation we have on or off the mat.. i feel growth in my mind. I’ve been so lucky to have gained this family in Professor Lucas, Thiago, Amanda, Jess, Matt.. i could go on for days. Also we’ve had the privilege of getting to learn from Professor Jefferson Moura which has been a really humbling experience for which i’ll be forever grateful. I started learning jiu jitsu here a few weeks ago and it is an amazing place with a great community of people and great teachers who will treat you right no matter what your background is.

As someone that doesn't go out much and avoids public interaction, this place feels as part of my family for a few reasons.I feel comfortable as soon as I walk in the door and accepted. With zero knowledge of jiu-jitsu.The coaches and instructor are extremely friendly and helpful. It does not at all feel like a "corporation". This gym has its own aura. Gracie Barra Fort Collins is an awesome Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym with so much to offer. I traveled to Fort Collins and spent two weeks training here and felt invited and welcomed from the first time I entered the building. All the students are excited to see new people coming to training and I instantly made friends. Even for a younger /newer team, there is some serious talent in this gym and I can’t wait to see how far they come the next time I visit. Professor Lucas is really personable and down to earth with his students and greatly emphasizes his desire to be seen as a professor on the mat and a friend off the mat. He truly does a great job at breaking down the curriculum step by step, making sure all his students get a good understanding of the positions and techniques taught each and every time. I’m a new student who’s been looking to get into a self defense martial art for a while now. This school is open, friendly and high quality. I feel like they actually take time to teach and to help you grow as an individual on and off the mats. Highly recommend.

Warm, friendly staff and instructors that are great with children. The little champions program for kids is well-organized and keeps kids engaged. Clean facility and spacious entry and waiting area.

My son and I have been taking classes and loving it. They are super professional and follow a very structured teaching plan, but still keeping the classes fun. The facility is also top notch. Really happy to finally have access to a real martial art academy in town! Long live Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu!
